I've got a similar problem with some gatorskins on some wider than normal rims with a profile like that shown by tester... almost no well.
Every time I've had a puncture I've got a train home and then spent some time wrestling the tyre off and fixing at home.
Perceivirance (however it's spelt) is the main thing.
I'm going to build another wheel, it's defo the rim (a bargain at £5 for 48hole, now I know why), as I recently got a durano for the front and Kojak for the back, the kojak didn't fit in the stays, but the durano did(*). All three gatorskin, durano and Kojak were a nightmare to put on.*both 26x1.35 both made by schwable, both totally different sizes, wtf?

I've got some road bb5,s and they are pretty crappy, better than v brakes, but not by much, and require far too much adjusting.
Cheers for the comments Ben, I thought it was you that said they were seconds...
I haven't made up my mind about them anyway... Might get slx hydro and move the bb7 I've already got onto the bike I was considering getting new bb7s for...

If a group of six peds are walking side by side on a road leaving no space is it acceptible to plough into them?
I know it's not, probably even more so as it was a road in richmond park that only leads to a small car park (near ham gate)... But it was pretty irritating as because of the little room they left I had to ride closer to their unleashed dogs than I would like (2 feet rather than 6) and one of them looked worried I was going to run thier dog over... But didn't fucking move for other road users... Bet they would have moved for a car... Cunts.

the play in a 9mm QR or some light weight forks flexing under your incredibly immense weight
Yup that's what it is for me.
Cheers for the link mechV, I think if my informant is correct, they are from the avid factory and they are seconds... Could be as little as paint defects, but considering the number of complaints in this thread about them sometimes being shit...
Still going to get a pair though.
(Is that right @coventry_eagle?)

The early one's were pretty poorly put together, in some cases dangerously so. This is probably because Mr foffa didn't know enough about bikes when he started his business and is basically putting his name on a bike for no reason other than he has the money to buy the parts, pay someone else to put them together and then sell them at an inflated price.
Recent one's are fine. (If maybe a bit expensive)
As Andy says if your friend likes the look of it and it rolls, it should be fine. -
Don't know about toxic shrooms, but it is pretty common for scientists to test the effects of things on themselves first... First example I came up with being:

The point isn't accepting one study and challenging another. The driver distance thing shows that we need to better educate drivers. As there are already licensing and driving test laws, this would be fairly easy to implement.
Helmet wearing may have some benefit, but so does wearing a helmet while walking, no one wears a helmet to walk around because the perceived danger is so low. Cycling is actually a pretty similar level of danger, so why wear a helmet? Everyone saying you should wear a helmet is adding to the perceived level of danger. -

So many questions... How fast was the boris biker going to catch you up, or were you driving towards the biker? How fast were you going that you had to crash into a fence to avoid one of the slowest vehicles on the road? How would a helmet have made it better, would it meant you'd have happily ploughed into boris biker if only he had a helmet?
I find when I'm driving that slowing down or stopping avoids pretty much all accidents, maybe you should have tried that? -

I'd be weary of filing of that much (as your picture), but why not drill screw sized holes, just a mm or two, enough to stop the tug bolts from splaying?
Also didn't someone make a tug for forward facing drop outs for exactly that reason? Have a search on here and start about four years ago...

We are clearly being too subtle in our anti helmet rhetoric?
Ok you can wear one of you want, they shouldn't be mandatory. But if you think they are worth wearing you clearly can't think rationally, you might as well rely on tarot cards for all the good it will get you.
Cycle training is a much better idea than helmets.
(Is that better?)

This has been covered loads in the richmond park 3 lap challenge thread.
Essentially, it's probably not really enforceable, but the chances of getting to test in court are slim to none.
