so you all paid him direct to his bank account even though he had only posted on here 30 odd times?
no alarm bells? really?
Of course there were, but I would like to think people on here were generally decent. I don't think any of us jumped in willy-nilly without at first trying to get Charlie to use his paypal account. It's put me off buying from the forum as a whole to be honest.
Should other forums be warned about this fraudulent behaviour perhaps?

I think I'd like to give Charlie the time to respond to my questions first. I'm not the kind of guy to wish a Criminal record on anyone (particularly for FRAUD as it would massively impact on his life). Though if anyone is going ahead I will add my voice to the list of complaints as I have lost out on twenty quid. Could we get a complete list of how much he owes, perhaps to remind the young man?
2nd result in Google Charlie, page one...

Iv only sold things via bank transfer, ask the previous buyers with no problems. I even boxed up and sold a tandem a year ago for nearly £400. And trust me. Boxing up a tandem with 3 bike boxes is hassle to say the least. I love bikes and love cycling not that i ever get long enough to hold onto my bikes. I seriously dont know what to do about his situation.
I did have a paypal account though I had issues linking it to my new bank account with a new address. Like i said. Iv taken payment through my bank for items with no issues.Reculver. I agree id be fucked off aswell. But im not sure what more i could do about it if i didnt pay for tracking. I sent all the items sold on the same day. If it werent for all the rubbish on this thread then id probably have reacted differently.
Apollo. I appreciate your response and your right. But im not a fraudster. I'd love to pay back all the money right now if i could and be done with this. But its not as simple as that. Sat here thinking to be honest id rather the police get involved and it get dealt with that way.
So log a claim with the royal mail for the SEVERAL items that have gone missing and repay all of us (From both threads). That should happen relatively quickly (sometimes post does go missing- The RM will be able to let you know if this is the case)
You're top of page 3 on Google. If I remember the "RED!" post, that went on for ages. You're probably young enough and decent enough not to want google to F*ck your life up are you not? These LFGSS people will run and run with it. I think we could all do with an explanation as to why you haven't responded to PM's, Emails, etc, and where you have been for a month. Also, which post office where the items sent from? That would be useful to know.
The thing I would most likely to know is why did you use links to pictures ripped off the internet? Did you not have these items in your possession yet?
You'll notice I haven't Put Charlie Harris -Fr*udster yet- I'm tempted to, but will patiently await an explanation of the above...
To be honest, I'm actually tempted to suggest that everyone on the forum add Charlie Z Harris (Fr*udster) as an addendum to their screen names, but that would probably give Velocio a melt down

Can I just add this from your pm...
Hey Joe.
I dont have Paypal sadly. I am based in sunny Suffolk. And after 6 is no problem at all. Just keep me updated.
Charlie
Well, it seems that you did have a paypal account as Velocio informed us. I suggest you use it. Can I suggest that saying you don't have a paypal account when you clearly do will not help your case? I don't bear you any ill-will, I am not bothered about ripping you apart online. I just want my £20 or my seatpost.
If the items were lost in the post I suggest you log a claim and repay everyone from both threads. It seems that for so many items to have been lost there must be some funny business going on somewhere between you and royal mail no?
I await your pm. Not your email- You didn't respond to the emails I sent you (to both accounts) -

In regards to the 'evidence' question.
If you want to (eventually) claim something as yours you first have to take it to the copshop, tell them you found it (and details of where and when) and that you think it is abandoned or stolen or whatever. They take it onto evidence to allow the time (pretty sure it was either 6 or 12 weeks) for the original owner to report it stolen and come and claim it. Then you will get a call saying you can come and get it (with a clear conscience).
Had to go through the whole rigmarole when my brother found a bag of about 120 diamonds in Hatton Garden. He emigrated to NZ and left them with me to take to the police. took them to Islington cop shop. waited 6 weeks (or whatever) and then went and collected them.

Got a 1981 motobecane with original parts (70's Sachs huret stuff). Pretty much the same model as this (http://www.bikeforums.net/classic-vintage/560620-brooks-mixte-roadbike-sprung-unsprung.html) with the Hutchinson faux leather embroidered on bar tape. Needs a fair bit of work and some surface rust around the seattube. As far as I can remember it has weinman brakes, sachs huret gearing (only rear gears with a band on shifter). Takes 27" wheels (but the ones I have are rusted and the tyres are decrepit). Got a partial Gipiemme seatpost that fits (needs a clamp) but the whole thing needs a good going over. looking for £60 or a reasonable offer. You'd have to collect the thing from Epsom. it is in no way rideable at the moment though.
