Beautiful bikes, particularly the 2nd one.
But 20 years old, classic but dated?
I might be missing something other than the vagaries of fashion but that's a lot of money, even for DeRosa/Colnago/Pinarello (choose a specialist Italian brand).
Market will bear what the market will but still, get a Gazelle for a third.

Price drops
Just a few things I want rid of
Euskaltel Euskadi bibs by EtxeOndo - these are great quality (read up), new, unused and with the tags Size XXL which unless you're a Basque mountain specialist, means everyone else's size large I guess. I'm 5'11, 34 waist and they fit good (I have another pair I use). £25 - now £20
Campagnolo Record Double 53/39, used v lightly so great condition, nice, classic chainset, no ugly carbon effect.. Bought as a spare. £45 - now £40
Swrve Charcoal Wool cap - unused, not my thing really, £15 - now £10
VP 1" black threaded headset, unused £10 - now £8
ITM Anatomic bars, 42 for oversize - £5 - free
SE1 or SE22 or meet central
Pix should be here:

I heard from a Principia owner that one of the reasons the original company went out of business was that in pursuit of perfection they just junked anything with the hint of a flaw. Ally this to a painstaking build process in Denmark and the laws of volume economics and it was no longer viable - especially as at the original price point they we're competing with much better know brands such as Pinarello etc.
This came from the guy I mentioned above who was riding a Colnago but regretted selling his Principia. It was an interesting conversation as he was an engineer - although the finer points of why their aluminium alloy was unique and perfectly constructed were lost on me as the gradient kicked up.
Needless to say, I love them and they're often complimented upon when out riding so I'm saying Skunkworks 'select group' as opposed to 'acquired taste', fits.
I'll try and put up some shots of my RSL later.

Thanks.
It's actually been sitting around for a while now waiting for me to transfer over the good parts from my current bike but in order to do so I need to get hold of some mid-range stuff to replace what I remove.
It's just a logistics thing and and dare I say........I'm a little sick of spending on bikes
Still, hopefully by the time the summer comes around.....or the post-2012 Olympic velodrome opens to all comers.......whichever comes soonest
And the actual build won't take a day
Seen this?

Looks like we got us a Principia appreciation society......
In fact I was laughing with a friend that we ought to start a collection in anticipation for the "90's high-end aluminium" bikes retro-craze - once the fascination with carbon and any old junker made of 531 passes
(I should add that I have a neat Gazelle steel single speed that I'm very fond of in 531c)
Anyone that had one of those Principias seems to have loved them - was out cycling and me ta guy on a Colnago who got all teary eyed when reminiscing about a Principia TT bike he sold and then regretted selling
I'll get some pix up - once I've dusted it
And yes, definitely as good as the Cannondales
-
I've got a Principia Rex track frame, Time forks and seatpost, Chris King headset - waiting to be fully built up.
Fyi Skunkworks, I got new decals from Principia who we're pretty helpful
I've also got an RSL as my road bike which is great - not even had a service since 2005. I'm a great fan of the original principias and suspect them to be as good if not better than the original Cannondale alu bikes

Hope it won't happen for the Olympic event but the fact that the last 300m of the Mall to the finish was entirely screened off for a dribble of pass holders was a fucking disgrace. Room for hundreds, filled with the few whilst the rest of us were all squashed up further back. How come it's always like this over here? And it wasn't just that there were barriers, there was blue tarpaulin along the whole way so you couldn't even stand back and view. Rubbish. And dare I say typical of the Olympics committee organizing things according to their entirely miserable restrictive practises and 'chosen partners'....Total bollocks and the antithesis of what watching road racing is about.

STOLEN CONDOR PISTA, black, about 7 years old, fixed, Selle Italia saddle, straight bars, bit scruffy, stolen yesterday morning from outside chemists on Blackstock road (Finsbury Park). Reward for return. Anyone get's offered one let me know. Not my bike but a friends and he's understandably peeved.
Thanks all

Fair enough - that makes Sash's bikes look much better value.
truth be told I'm after a late 90's. early 00's Litespeed and suspect they're not cheap either
Good luck with the sale
