At least one of the Hackney South bike squad who came to one of our monthly Hackney LCC meetings some years ago is a pretty good time triallist/roadie. I don't know if he's still there but they were joking about him racing ahead to catch a suspect before his colleague could make it and thereby putting himself in danger. He'd have you for breakfast.
he might of pulled me over

Got caught couple of weeks ago. Stopped at a junction for ages with no traffic coming across, so rode over, only to be met by a copper jumping in my way waving me to 'pull over'. £30. I don't see any of the 1001 peds jumping in my way getting a ticket. I should have mounted the pavement, crossed over and hopped back onto the road. Just the same, but he wouldn't have had any cause to stop me, even though it would have been more dangerous for the peds and me.
Also got £20 ticket this week for failing to zap my oyster on the free/bendy bus to an job interview. D'oh!
be sure to look both ways - for coppers - before crossing

Me and the rest of the uxbridge guys got pulled the other week by an unmarked car for weaving in between the traffic and maybe a rlj I didn't really hear properly though. Elguapo dealt with them and they let us off.
IMO police are more cuntish or not depending on your first reaction. when i was fined they boxed me into the bus lane jumped out and shouted "what are you doing, running 3 red lights then turning around to wave at us" i replied in a raised voice and then they got worse. if you act calmly and firnedly straight away instead of defensive then your more likely to be let off

Headphones in means you can try to pretend you didnt hear them, if you try and get away.
i never hear them anyway not until the come blasting up next to me shouting "pull over or we'll ram you off the road"
the best is when they can't be bpothered to fine you and leave you with the comment "keep riding dangerously we'll scrape you off the ground"
FUCK THE POLICE

Monday- 30 pounds on the spot RLJ bank 4pm.
Tuseday- 60 pounds skitching a lorry and riding on the flyover, Hammersmith Flyover 10:30amthas money that i could have used to fund my drug habit. any one else notice a police crack down or do i have bad luck.
mate the police have definetly started cracking down. i've been pulled over about 10 times in the past 3 monthes.
to be fined for skitching a lorry is just bad luck i love skitching lorries especially ones with ladders on the side. why else would they put something to hold on to on the back of a lorry
also its probably easier on a skateboard than a bike, but everyone wants to have a bit of fun

ha i think after the last beef i had with a spokster i can never ride a spok. plus to be honest, if anyone sees me rollin down the road i'll look like the ultimate hipster(more so than i do already). i really cant see the point in puting 265 into one wheel which isnt particular advantageous (besides in looks). i can deny they are handsome on the right buid, but i dont think rachel -my frame- would be the right frame for a spok

Its a HED disc - how does it ride . . . well its super stiff, when i had it on the Condor which was an ultra stiff frame, you could feel every ripple in the tarmac, not nearly as bad on the Aende - i cant say that i have noticed being blown around by it, but then its not the kind of bike you take out in shit weather, my front Aerospoke on my old condor was far more unstable in the wind. Of course it isnt designed to go bunnyhoping around on, but it is suprisingly tough.
Plus the sound it makes when you get up to speed never fails to put a smile on my face.
The sizing/fit of Lo-Pros is so all over the place - i was lucky in that mine fitted just right, but really its a matter of building it up, giviing it a go, and either loving it, or if its not your cup of tea selling it on
ye i reckon it feels a lot nicer the aerodynamic advantages are undenyable.
now if only i had the money for a zipp disc

hello all,
i've decided to purchase myself a new set o wheels for christmas and i am still a little stuck as to what rims to get. im not too interested in a dp vee as im gonna make the back in to a disc wheel anyway. i was thinking the old favourite with the mavic open pros, as the reviews are all good. does anyone have any recomendations of a rim you are particularly fond of?
cheers

Bet you your stealth bike doesn't have the stealth skills of stealth cat!

Good to see manufacturers branching out with other designs, you'd have to be barking mad to go for those though, i'm sure most other rims would run rings around them, can't imagine them being that well planted around the bends either.
Right, could someone hand me my coat? My work here is done
and the winner is...

you wanna be careful about that mine came off when i was on my way down blackstock road -which for those of you don't know is also a rarther fast hill - and i was shitting it. luckily i didn't have too foot jam and was able to coast down the hill, which was a nice hange for once
