I watch The Day After Tomorrow and then Al Gore's doci (or the other way around). I think the film made his arguments seem all the more realistic and possible.
The main point I picked up was that the melting ice caps and glaciers dilute the salt levels in sea water and that this effects the Golf streat which circulates warm water/air to the northen hemisphere. Once the warm air stops getting pumped around the world then the temperatures will drop and falling rain turns in to snow, which turns in to ice which turns us in to f*ucked.
And I got the feeling from all the examples of contrasting then and now glaciers from 50 years ago, that in another 50 years time, we'll be freezing our nuts off......and so two will livestock and veg and fruit and beer!

After my sunday afternoon nap I went down ta shops; where at the northend road/talgarth road junction A police car had crached in to the corner of the pedestrian railing, right next to the Bloomberg window. There was also a Mercedes Class A smashed up in the middle of the jucntion.
Anyway there was a bike undernieth the police car, I presume the rider was waiting for the lights on the road side of the barriers. The exact spot where peds and cyclist always wait to cross.
It looked like a high impact incident. Anyway Although the barrier had been removed and police tape and cones put in place cyclists and peds were still waiting on the roadside of the temp barrier...........just waiting to get hit!
It seems every year or so a car, van, truck or coach smashes in to the oncoming barriers in both directions at this jucntion. When will people learn not to save 3 seconds of time and respect their life.
I hope the rider is OK. Anyone see any of this?

Got some good info on the G20 show today.
A professor at my uni (East London) was removed by security from the doclklands campus when he tried to force the uni to turn off it's lights on Saturday night, he is/was a professor of anthopology.
He then did a radio interview and said all bankers will "hang from lampposts". He has been suspended from the uni.
And theres a big demo group meeting at the docklands campus on Thursday on campus, so it's going to be mayhem on Thursday.
The old bill have got a huge security area right next to the uni and today we were building a 1:1 room near the boundry of the security, so we were on ladders working and seeing all the swat and military guys. There were so worried on what we were doing they drove around on to the campus and took our names and photo's of our 1:1 room. It's a big opperation at ExCell and if there's trouble the anarcists will get a hiding from the looks of it.

This bag can hold a large DSLR and lense. I brought the bag in summer '08 but have only used it once. Here's the blurb and some and a photo
KATA’s Torso Pack is uniquely designed to keep your D/SLR or Camcorder in quick-draw position, while TST protected. T-212 enable frontal carrying and quick draw without weighing on your neck.
The Torso Packs are the central element of KATA’s EPH System. They can be used on their own or attached to the W-92 Waist Pack as well as one of the backpacks The T-212 fits up to a large D/SLR with lens attached The unique design allows you to carry the bag up front or on your back, and change the position even while on the go.
The lid is secured by a wide “hook & loop” fastener and a side release buckle, and one pull allows for a quick full opening of the parallel zipper set , this means that at all times you have frontal top access to your camera.
The large main compartment is divided in a way that allows you to store your camera in top grip position while below the body you can store and protect additional lenses or accessories.
Additional external pockets will hold your personal effects.

I purchased the bag for £80 and would like £50 for it. ONO. PM me if interested (The guy in the green top is using a different sized bag, but lets you see it's wearing positions.) -
