Carapaz is showing a lot better than GT in general but they clearly are going in as joint leaders. With the flat TT on stage 5 I would expect Carapaz to lose 30 seconds to a minute - which will put him on the back foot very early on.

We've been totally spoilt over the last few years - the nature of the star players in these teams has made incredible achievements seem fair commonplace (you could argue that Stokes has done that all on his own).
So our expectations have changed, and we aren't used to a ground out bore draw.

Even last summer we had a superbly entertaining series with Pakistan.

It's also fair to say that Root doesn't have his strongest side, and a team with Stokes and Butter in it may have instilled more confidence in their ability to firstly get the runs, but also put pressure on the bowling attack.

I agree, but considering the quality of the bowling, I think some risks would have had to be taken. And we had 4 batmens on a pair.
