roboto, i just wanted to say that the keirin ss class-men have much more power in their legs as hoke so steel should be sufficient (whatever he is lusting for)

all keirin frames are steel frames and non of them was cracked.
i do not think that a crack will mainly based on the material, more on the design/geometry/frame triangle construction

therefore you can buy used look 496/596 or custom made carbon frames from jacek for less (starting price is appr. 1500€)
