Well, if all goes to plan, by then your team will be better by the time the tourney takes place and therefore the gap between top and bottom will be tighter. The results may be the same, but the games will be better.
I think the difference between random and seeded for the purpose of this tournament is that it's an end of league tourney, and having the results of the league impact the tourney not only creates greater continuity, but allows for potentially interesting results rather than random ones that could easily see top teams get knocked out because of an unlucky draw.
I guess what it all comes down to is what the organisers want the purpose of the tourney to be: a ranking or a shits-n-giggles tourney for the league teams.

No, but often double elim tourneys were seeded on what people thought the ranking should be, which always proved awkward for out of town teams people didn't know very well. Which I think is why a lot of out of town tourneys were seeded randomly. But don't listen to me, I only half pay attention to this shit.

Re: seeding. Every tournament that's been randomly seeded in the past has received complaints and criticism.I think using the league to seed, rather than subjectively doing it based by perceived merit, is a great way to end the league on a high. Fuck surprise results! you can still pull it out of the bag, and when you do in seeded double elim it's even more exciting.
This all may be pointless now tho, I don't know what they have up their sleeves.

Amazing tournament, amazing polo, amazing LLPC!!
I had such a great time and really loved seeing it all come together this weekend. Erin and Nik, you guys are fucking heroes!! To organise all of this and still play out of your skins and show everyone just how strong the London Ladies community is, it was absolutely inspirational.
Thanks to my team mates Trevor and Sophie for such a great tournament, and thanks to the Diamonds for being awesome even though I was just a sub. I'm so gutted about your (other) wrist, Helen! But it was really fun to take your place ;) Max and Zoe are awesome.
I know there were a few strong words exchanged due to the only contention, which was where do the boys stand in a ladies majority tournament, but I really believe that this was the way it needed to be and that it was a huge success. We've now got a huge ladies community that will only keep growing, which means next year we can have that women's tournament I'm sure many thought we could or should have had this year.
Thanks for everything, you were all amazing!

Well said Jono, you have been an absolute rock this whole tourney (before and after).
