The London Dynamos have secured permission from the Royal Parks to host 3 time trials within Richmond Park. The events will be held on June 13th, July 18th and August 8th.

Mrs S did the High Wycombe 10, and the ac3rg 25 - both very windy slow events. She won the 10 in 24, and came second in the 25 with 1.00.

Just looked it up on the results - Clive Nicolls, High Wycombe Cycling Club. Seeing the results, it was only a Cat 234. Still, fair play to him.

I think he's in it to be a rock star - REM is currently flavour of the month!! To his credit, he can hold a tune when singing (which is more than can be said for me).

Just had a chat with Mrs S - she is insisting we go the accoustic route. A shame really, as I think he would have been more inclined to persevere with an electric guitar. However, she is the one who will have to listen to it!! Looking at the net, I'm inclined to go for a Yamaha CS40 3/4

Amazing that they think they can sell a child's guitar for that much money. There must be parents out there with more money than sense!

Can I ask a question - my 8 year old is desperate to learn the electric guitar, and I have no experience. So, am I wrong in thinking he needs a 3/4 acoustic to learn on, or is it as easy to learn on an electric guitar? How did you guys get started?

I watched a chap go off the front at Hillingdon in the E123 race this afternoon after 2 laps. He stayed out for the remaining 35 laps to win by 45 seconds or so. Hugely impressive.

My own race in the 4s was less impressive...

Can I ask about lenses - I have a Canon D20 that is now a few years old. I have a Sigma EX 70-200mm which I use a lot (primarily because it is the only decent lense I have). I had an old 1.8 50mm (Mk1) but there is a problem with the auto-focus, so it doesn't get used much.

I am looking for something in between, mainly to take pictures of the kids. Options would appear to be either to get the Canon 35mm f2.0, or the sigma 30mm f1.4. Does anyone have a view on either lens, or am I better off getting a 24-70ish zoom?

Long shot I know, but I'm looking to purchase a 3TTT mutant quill stem (or equivalent) with a removable faceplate.

I'll go and have a look - I have a look ergo stem, but it weighs a ton.

Getting its first outing on Friday in the High Wycombe CC 10, and then the a3crg 25 on Sunday.

Bubble wrap and masking tape. To protect against swinging bars. Will obviously come off for races.

I recently bought some Salmon mudguards - there are two sets of the actual mudguards, together with (I believe) one set of the fixing bits and pieces. These are not shiny new, nor do they fit on the bike I had intended them for. They are also not the easiest to fit. They are currently cluttering the cellar.
