my sister has this old fold up ss shopper that she has been using round town but she just fuked a tyre. dont know how or what but apparently its fuked....
she has been to a couple of bike shops but at the moment no one has been able to help her out.
she has been told the tyre size is a 490 (sometimes known as 550 a) i've never heard of this sizing before so dont really know where to start.
does any one know where she can get these from in london?

@ dave.kent: i had the stem shot blasted then polished up with a industrial machine. my uncle does a polishing service. have a search for polishing services on there is a thread with his prices and services etc

as far as i know the frame is made for 700c front and back. might give it a try with a smaller at the front but i'm finding it really comfy getting down really flat on the bars.

Ok so i just threaded my second rear wheel in a month and am getting kind of tierd of doing this. so will be staying away from french hubs now in the future.
was wondering if it was possible to rethread a hub??
i have stripped the lockring threads so would only need to rethread those, any ideas??
