If you don't mind a bit of hike a bike you can cross a couple km down at the fb and hug the coast line.

I've not done it but have taken a good look at it from the other side and it looks quite doable, check streetview. Mostly arable land.

My Bolt is a similar age and the battery life is not nearly as good as it has been in the past. Sometimes I only manage to get 9 hours (with backlight off).

Hopefully there is some room for negotiation there and whoever processes the order perhaps quote the previous order from earlier in the year.

It is using the new smaller SD30 connectors rather than the classic SD50 ones though, so you'd need to have an inline adaptor.

I've got internal battery with bar end junction box. when i plug into that with a usb power pack it simply doesn't shift. The battery is the DN110 model.

My Ultegra R8070 di2 doesn't allow shifts while charging

It can be hit or miss as you say. Maybe for the return leg it is an option as you'll be so knackered you could sleep anywhere.

If travelling as a pair the berths are a lot better value compared to solo as you can no longer get paired up with a stranger in a sharing one.

Cheapest I've seen is £200 for 2x each way, so 100 each. Not that much more than a seat at £80 odd (assuming that was 1 way)

Sleeper seated isn't too terrible. It is a reclining seat like an airplane. Better than a normal train seat by far.

I had the same issue when trying to use a ROAM for audaxing. After around 270km the device stops having a gps signal and looses speed readings. I got the same email back from wahoo. Meanwhile my friend with a BOLT had no such issue.

I loved the ROAM for the colour screen and larger real-estate, but a bit disappointed with the reliability after I'd been singing Wahoo's praises previously for reliability.
