as a hill it was a big disappoinment, not getting particularly steep at any point and not going on long enough to make you work
Well yes, zone 1 is pretty much flat as a pancake! Maybe coming out of the aldwych underpass is steeper? Someone could go round with a GPS and find zone 1's true steepest street, but it would still be not very steep. I don't have a GPS, so this is being delegated to someone else. :)

Like the person behind you can't see when they're waiting perpendicular to the kerb. Yeah right. It's horrible transient territorialism.
And another thing that's annoying me. Every time I do the early morning book clearing in the Ancient History section, I get fucking Toyah's 'It's A Mystery' going round my head, and then in a piss-poor attempt to block this atrocity, my brain takes the vague chord structure of that song and mutates it into the theme tune from 'Spitting Image'.
Who the fuck is controlling my mind?
"Goes off to plant toyah single in the ancient history section"
This ride looked like great, hope to be playing a part in one of these rides soon. It was nice to hear of many fixed riders, seems like my lack of gears won't be too much of a hindrance. Just need to work out if my lack of fitness will be. Oh and free tuesday evenings.

I'd check the weight on those cheap cargo bikes. I think the christiania is around 20kg, and they do a lighter one too I think. The cheap christiania versions - not the same as the ones you linked - were around 40kg. Also the christiania frames are actually made in china so these could well be made by the same people.
I agree about the flexiness of the christiania, though it does handle much better when you've got some decent weight in the front. I've heard that the opposite is true for the two wheeled cargo bikes.

These are quite cool. Not sure how they were done

Want, but that would be 3 cargo bikes which is silly.
