Recycle a Bicycle is a great shop! They have a couple shops in NYC and have a good selection on bikes for really decent prices. From kids bikes to vintage racers. They are also a great organization that is doing tons for educating people about riding. If you buy a bike from them the money is going toward a really great thing.

I had posted another thread "Loner for my Lady" but in retrospect I realize she is going to need a bike for for the next 6 months really. So It seemed that buying a bike might be a better idea.
She is looking for a SS or geared road bike (SS would be better) not fixed. Frame size 52-53cm. Something solid Doesn't have to be super nice, but not a piece of rubbish either.
Budget is probably around £100. Let me know what you all might have out there and lets make a deal!
Cheers!

I got a geared Kona Smoke with a french style handlebar that you usually find in Pashley bike and a basket in the back, no mudguard thought.
came with it's own D lock, tyres are those really thick cruiser style one, very comfortable and go over potholes as if it wasn't there.
Gracias Edscoble, I think 50/14's Dolan is more her speed. Cheers for the offer. After thinking about it, I think I might see if someone has a SS beater for sale too. She's going to need a bike for the long run anyway.
-
My Other half is coming over from NYC at the end of Nov before she heads off to Madrid. Wondering if anyone might have a beater to loan for about 7 days from Nov 30th to the 6th? She rides a Single Speed in NYC but cant bring her bike with her. I really want to ride around London with her while she's here. Can anyone pitch in?
She needs a 52-53cm frame. Not fixed but a SS or geared road bike would be great. I'll treat it like gold always lock it up properly etc etc...
Cheers!

Ive tried to do the same thing recently, Couldn't find any decent maps either. They exist I'm sure, just dont know where to find them yet? It can be a bit off road in places, Doable but will rattle your teeth out on certain stertches if your on a road bike. Let me know if you come up with any decent maps.

True. Must think more before typing. I was alluding more to the whole traditional christian christmas which the vast majority celebrate but would never call themselves a Christian. Just seems bizzare to me.
Edit: Im just a bit of a miserable bastard.
I should read before I type! You called yourself out! Now go eat some sweets and smash a pumpkin!
-
Fuck the AMERICANISM that is now Halloween. Trust the Americans to totally devalue and capitalise it. Im gonna be carving a turnip tonight, not a fuckin stupid Pumpkin!
Celebrating Halloween without actually knowing what it is is dumb as shit. On a par with non christians celebrating Christmas.
You grumpy Fart! How have Americans Devalued Halloween? Do you celebrate it in some pure pagan fashion that the druids did? It's about having a laugh with your friends! Now Christmas on the other hand is an F'in nightmare!

We should all start riding Raliegh Choppers! Although I'm sure I'm in the 3 or 4,000's as a member? I will be good I promise!
Whew! I'm member 1934. I was thinking I was really gonna have to turn it on to impress you guys so you would hang out with me. I mean, 1934, it could be worse I suppose? I guess I don't qualify for the executive washroom key, but I could be like the towel boy that dries your hands and gives you a mint when your done right?
