Hey guys, I'm building a SS beater for my girl and I need some 700c wheels.
The important part of this is that the rear wheel needs to be a SS free wheel. I wondered if anyone might have a rear wheel from an OTP or a unipack with a flip flop hub laying around? It doesn't really matter where it comes from just needs to be have a free wheel.
As far as the front goes it doesn't matter where it comes from. The wheels dont have to match they just need to be 700s. let me know if anyone can dig something up.
Thanks.

It sounds like your iliotibial band (ITB) is tight (very common on cyclists).
So here's a little anatomy for you: there are 2 main muscles that attach into your ITB; Gluteus Maximus and Tensor Fascia Latae (TFL)

If your riding position changes, i.e. drops are lower then being bent over will transfer more tension onto your legs, your hips and back will also rotate forward and this will increase the tension in Glute Max.As to what the other guys have said about cleat position and Q factor, a small change to either of these will change the way the ITB pulls below the knee, so if your ITB is tight to start, then a small change like; bar height, reach or change in Q angle etc has the potential to induce quad pain.
Yeah Yeah what Skunk-hk said. I taught him everything he knows!

This thread is crying out for new life, Well.... at least kept respectfully alive in the name of damn good food! I think that any further recipes must be given "Bike" related names from now on. Such as "Elguapo's 3 Cog ring of fire chilli" (doesn't exist..Yet). So Here is my first,
Shitty Bottom Bracket Oatmeal Raisin Cookies. Mmmmmmmm!
Serves 4; Prep time: 40 minutes; Total time: 40 minutes
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (spooned and leveled)
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter (room temperature)
3/4 cup packed light-brown sugar
3/4 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 1/2 cups rolled oats
2 cups raisins
1 cup sweetened shredded coconut
1. Preheat oven to 350°. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside. 2. Mix, cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla, scraping down sides of bowl as needed. Add flour mixture; beat just until combined. Add oats, raisins, and coconut; beat just until combined. 3. Drop level 1/4-cup measures of dough, 1 1/2 inches apart, onto baking sheets. 4. Bake until cookies have spread and are golden brown and soft to the touch, 18 to 20 minutes, rotating sheets halfway through. Cool 5 minutes on sheets; transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. You can also freeze unbaked cookies and bake them later. Place unbaked cookies on baking sheet and freeze until firm, about 30 minutes. Transfer to resealable plastic bags (label and date); keep up to 6 months. Bake as many as you need (without thawing); place 1 1/2 inches apart on a baking sheet. Bake 20 to 25 minutes. -

I unfortunately fell on mine and broke it in half. Funny thing is I couldn't find the other half, but my arse was killing me, I found the other half sticking out of my butt cheek like a Chinese star! I've been stabbed!
I would really love to have another one? Any chance? In any color but black. With my name Elguapo on it? let me know and I'll send you the money. Cheers!

What optimism? I'm ignorant to all of this 'change'.
How will this affect me/people I know? If he pulls the troops from the middle east I'd be happy. If he started thinking greener I'd be happy but meh he's just another politician. I don't quite understand the interest from people here in the UK.It's really interesting and a tad frustrating not being home for all of this and hearing international points of view. I am and always will be unbelievably cynical and untrusting when it comes to politicians of any kind. But Barack Obama speaks about the future in a way that Americans have not heard for many years. I will never just blindly follow him but will judge him by his actions. I have to have faith in the promise that he sees for the future of the U.S.. Americans have been demorilized over the last 8 years at home and in the eyes of the world.
By no means do I think or believe the rhetoric that the U.S. is a beacon for good in the world. The whole idea of capitalism goes hand in hand with opression and tyrany. The U.S. is a capatalist monster and the the world suffers for it. I'm not holding my breath for an inspiring Social Democrat to come out of the woodworks and spread happiness around the country anytime soon.
I hate the word Patriotic and I am loath to go around spouting my pride in America. Because I think we are all living on the same planet and it's F'in tiny in the scheme of things. But now that I have lived outside the U.S. for almost 5 years now I sort of understand what people see and admire about America, funny thing is, it's the same thing that irritates me intensely about America. Americans have a confidence and
optomism that I think many people around the world aspire to. Added to that Americans live a life of indiviualism and opportunity that allows us to aspire to being great, succeed or fail we will always give it a try. The problem is that the confidence, optomism and drive for greatness has turned in to arrogance and greed. We have become so arrogant that we have become blinded by it. We have adopted a my way or the highway attitude towards the rest of the world. Therefore we have lost any admiration that had been directed our way from the world.Added to all of this, After unbelievable and long fought struggle by african americans in the U.S.. We have an African American president. The U.S. have made a fundemental change in their thinking that no one thought would happen in their lifetime. It is history on the biggest scale! You still wont find me wearing American flag trousers or chanting USA!USA! anytime soon, I would sooner chop of a leg. But It is nice to think I might not have to make excuses and wont feel so ashamed about the place that is my home.

People of mix race are never called white though (apart from in Prison etc). You are not called black or white because of your blood or who you are inside.
Obama is a black man as far as 90% of the World is concerned.
I'm a white man as far as 90% of the people I meet are concerned. I'm just as Mexican as I am white. I'm mixed-race and called white all the time.
-
FFS! He's not black, he's mixed race!
I dont know what other mixed peoples experiences are. But for me (Mexican/American) If I identified myself as half Mexican I was frequently asked to pick a side. But it's impossible. I think you are what you grew up with and identify with. For me, I feel both. I am white on the outside and brown on the inside (Like a Burrito) and I am incredibly proud of both sides. I get the feeling that Obama would agree. It's not for us to label him one way or another. He is what who he wants to be.
-
Obama, irrespective of the colour of his skin, was a far better candidate and will do more for the US than McCain could have possibly hoped to achieve.
Obama was definitely the better candidate no argument. But when you look at the history of African Americans in the U.S. what we have just done is a dream that I never thought I would see in my lifetime. 50 years ago the U.S. was a segregated country and the KKK and the Dixicrats in the south were a force to be reckoned with. Having a "Black" man ascend to the presidency is absolutely incredible! The color of his skin is a huge positive in this case.
-
-
I dont agree with this. Why is there a problem with calling a black person "black", a white person "white"? English, Australian, American, man, woman, short, tall, young, old, Jewish, Christian...
Yeah, we're all the same. We're also all different.
Definitely! We are all human, but we all live our lives within different cultures and contexts. That is what makes people such an amazing animal. It is the lack of understanding and acceptance of ways different than our own that leads to the endless trouble and sadness that have dealt with through our history.

I just received a record I bought off ebay The Zero Boys. I bought it because I wanted the a song on it called Amphetamine Addiction. So I opened it up and played it, f'in amazing record by the way. So short story long, when I tried to put the record back in the sleeve it wouldn't go in all the way? I couldn't figure it out I tried every angle, still wouldn't go in. So I stuck my hand inside the sleeve to see what was up and I found a folded up piece of foil stuck in the back corner inside the sleeve. I'm no inncocent, so I recognised it immediately. I kept thinking "It couldn't be"? Yep, it was! The guy who sent it to me had hidden his speed in the record and forgot about it! Ive heard of posters or stickers coming in your records, but free speed?
I emailed the guy, and delicately mentioned what I found. He emailed back and said he had lost it years ago and always wondered where it went. Just for the record, I tossed it down the bog. I wouldn't touch someone elses dodgy lost speed. F'in hysterical!
