The law a grey area on this. Think a case ended up in the Lords over a cyclist cycling in the primary position on the road but can't remember the details.
You can guarantee that the filth didn't know the law (or how to follow PACE). By your account you did nothing wrong legally but the police were just 'using their own judgement' (ie. you're cyclist scum). Always challenge uniformed officers (if you're sober). They really don't like it and are generally thick as mince (esp. traffic officers), so then the fun can begin. -
If you're doing cafe rides then you need a bling bike. Best save up for a Colnago. ;-)
wheels for the colnago.. 776 grams the pair!

Cannondale Caad 9. According to the chaps at bike forums-road section the best alu frame around.. (and a horizontal top tube) Or look for a reduced Cervelo Soloist team frame. Also alu. A grand is a struggle for carbon... Just remembered Planet x. Were they not doing some deal where you had to build the bike yourself?

sounds like liberal hand wringing
report to police
go to jail
do not pass go
do not collect £190
thieves and general low life junkie scum should be deported to Australia like in the good-ol-days

The difference between an Mavic Open Pro and a DT Swiss RR 1.1 is £10.
Is it worth spending the extra on the DT or is it just a brand thing?
Have both. The Dt's are a little deeper section (and I think a little lighter) but I couldn't say there was any difference in 'feel'. The stickers look better on the DT's but they all fall off in the rain so...
Buy the best hubs you can afford and lace them 32f/32r with DT spokes. Who needs Krysiums? -

Le Tour won on a 'no heritage' canadian (via taiwan) bike this year... however think you've missed the point... I don't own these brands for the reason listed above..
the wilier probably came out of the neighbouring carbon shop in taiwan... unless you buy something like a colnago master x-lite, heritage means little with plastic bikes -

-4c here tonight.. 'Winter training' tomorrow early. Think it's going to be 'base miles' (ie going slowly) so who gives a fuck about falling off...
fell off last week on the leaves... in the winter gear, only a small pimplesque scrape on the hip... in the summer gear would have been the full bacon rasher shite..
great thing about cold sunday mornings: no oakleyed up tosspots who don't say 'hello'..
That grauniad article chills the bones. CC, you have my sympathy..
Now you need to start writing a column in the Independent about 'your side of the story'.
