Thing is there is a possibility of training on the same tracks Hoy races on, you can clock up many, many hours of practice riding on proper 'dromes, and a structure that lets you train to become as good as Hoy should you have the talent and inclination....

with the way this event runs, you get 6 laps to get used to the feel and then straight onto your 10 lap quali... clearly the top placed guy is a great rider, but i reckon everyone who turned up on the day for their 1 shot at riding the track would be able to improve quite a bit with a bit more experience on that track, and seeing as Redbull have the only track there's no way for you to gain that practice....

Tbh I was happy to see guys who knew what they were doing race & win, regardless of sponsorship. You don't hear folks complaining that Hoy won the nationals at the proper 'drome.

Well it's their event, at the end of the day its a marketing/promotional event, not anything else....

The Red Bull sponsored Latvian World Champion who has his own minidrome to practice on.... Closely followed by a host of Red Bull sponsored riders...

yeah i'll be playing, not there for 12.30 but will be there before 2.... No sign of Ste yet today... but there are 2 cans of beer and a bottle of vodka in the kitchen & if thats whats left don't like to think what got drunk last night... I'm presuming he'll be more 2pm as well...

Any issues on bottom bracket height/pedal strike? Bumph says the mindrome is constructed to keep the bike at 90-degrees to the track...

I'll be happy to just go back to paying for the court if thats whats needed, even with one broken light it's better than anywhere else we have to play, we need to be able to keep using it for the good of MCR polo.
