Asda (in Hulme) have 3x cooking Chorizos (soft ones) for £2.90 i think, they go quite far when chopped up and added to sauces/pasta etc
Saw this in the morning;
It shall be made tomorrow after I have foraged ingredients today. Though 3 real chorizo sausages would be a bit pricey I may get one and sub some decent sausages for the rest.
Should last a good few days with mashed potato. -
Embarrassingly generous Christmas present from my Dad... they are awesome though....

Quick dash to the butchers & fruit n veg stalls and i've got 1kg+of pork belly roasting and a big pan full of tomatoey veggie, stewey goodness cooking, total cost £5 for the meat £2.50 for the veg... should keep me going for quite a while when eaten with pasta, as sandwiches etc...
now i just need to wait for the roasting to do its magic.....

TBH with a face like that a couple of mallet blows might be a good thing......
Here's my new helmet setup.
Protec B2 Skate in XL

With Rawlings SBRWG softball batting helmet face guard
Result

Had to cut a bit out the cage and drill a hole for the fittings.

I've not played with it on yet. My only concern is falling on my face and the cage pushing my helmet back and choking on the strap. The gap at the nose area is 60mm at the widest, I suppose a ball could potentially get wedged in there.

Rasher or 2 or smoked bacon + Onion + Veg stock cube + Frozen peas = Super quick Pea & Ham Soup.....
Reckon investing in a decent-ish stick blender is worth the money, just make sure you get one with a metal stick part so you can blend hot soups without it melting like some cheap plastic ones do.....! This has happened to me!

I've just been informed that my company won't be offering any extended period, i was interested in joining the scheme until i got this email:
*I have had a look at the calculations for you . Your monthly Gross payment will be £60.70 based on a bike of a value of £650.00.
Your net payment ie the amount it will physically cost you per month is £41.28 , £495.36 annually .
The payment you would need to make at the end of the twelve month contract would be £162.50 (25%) therefore the total cost through the scheme = £657.86. unfortunately we cannot divert from this unless you wanted to return the bike, HMRC have clamped down on the rules!!
*Errr, so it's actually going to cost me £8 more than buying on 12 months interest free credit.... awesome scheme...

This is my problem with the Freegan thing, everytime i see photos of people hauls i think it seems to be a load of processed crap i wouldn't want to/probably shouldn't eat....
I fondly remember sharing a yorkshire hot pot and cous cous with Max outside the Duke's Head freegan style...
it was tasty cos it was free...
then I thought WTF.

Had a Winter warmer craving yesterday so made cauliflower cheese, was amazed at the size of the cauliflower i got for 70p, enough for 4 servings, some with (Green spinach) pasta, some as a side to a bit of gammon... etc etc
Cauli - 70p
Butter - 10p
Flour - 1p?
2/3rd pint milk - 30p
Cheese - 70p (could have used much cheaper cheese but went for something extra mature)Something super comforting about baked cheesy/saucy goodness.....
