Just a quick FYI regarding 'Triple Ready' Crosschecks, in my case (2012) Baby? blue models front shifter isn't ramped enough to actually shift down to the granny ring, so i'll add new front derailleur to the BB and chainring i've just bought to convert it...
Think i'll drop Surly a quick line and ask them to clarify their online sales pitch...!

Just added Altura click pannier clips to some £4 German gas mask pouches to make a set of front pods... total cost so far about £25. Still need to add stabilization bungees but they seem pretty sweet... FYI i fitted my sleeping bag and mat in a single pouch at the weekend... looking forward to finishing them and trying them out...

+1 for insect protection, the midges were a nightmare... particularly trying to pack up first thing in the morning pre-coffee....
From the other photos you posted it looks like you had a pretty good weekend! I was a bit bummed out last night as more and more people were posting awesome photos and getting a whole bunch of texts/message about how amazing the whole weekend was (you bastards!)
On the plus side, I took delivery of a tarp, some ti-pegs, a tick remover and something-treated headnet as a precaution for the Lakes. Played around with various luggage set ups on the Karate Monkey and got round to fitting a completely new, and hopefully bombproof, drivechain (still singlespeed!). Think I've got everything planned out. Just need to stitch up a couple of bags to keep tent pegs and other pointy things from rubbing through anything.

So close... Damn you efficient emergency services....

http://harewood.org/grand-depart/faqs/
** When will the roads close? **
Full road closures will be in operation whilst the race takes place and a list affected areas will be communicated widely by official agencies soon. Details are still being finalised however some further information can be found **[here](http://letour.yorkshire.com/road-closures)**.All advice is to choose your spot and enjoy the day! Harewood is lucky enough to have a full weekend of events and activities planned. You can join us as a spectator for free or you can be part of the Festival of Cycling. Full details are available on the Festival of Cycling website
****
**How do I access Harewood if the roads are closed? **
Despite road closures there will still be access to Harewood. There will be diversions in place from all major access routes for people to follow. We can’t predict how many cars may be following diversions on July 5th so we do recommend an early start to ensure you don’t miss the action. If you don’t fancy breakfast here and want to join us later in the afternoon, the A659 from Wetherby will be open all day with some restrictions. Parking will be available in nearby fields with pedestrian access to Harewood from Harewood Avenue. Please note a £10 parking charge will be in place. If you have not pre-booked your parking please note it is cash only on the day.
****
**Is it free to park? **
There is a £10 charge to help control the volume of cars during that weekend. It is an unprecedented event in Yorkshire. Welcome to Yorkshire estimate that Le Grand Depart may attract up to 3 million people along the route. Parking can be pre-booked via the Festival of Cycling or purchased on the day. Please note that parking purchased on the day will be cash only. For this reason the parking charge at Harewood applies to all spectators including Harewood Members who have not purchased a ticket to the Festival of Cycling.
If you are camping at the Festival, if you’ve entered a participation event or if you have booked a hospitality package, your car parking charge is included within you booking. Passes will be sent out to you in the post.
Please note: camping has now sold out. No more pitches are availableI'm driving up tomorrow...
How likely am i to be able to drive to and park at either Harewood House on Saturday (or both).

Let me know what you're planning! Crosscheck on Clayton Vale MTB trails was FUN!
I'll be taking the Cross Check out for some off-road action this weekend to test out the downtube shifters on the rough stuff and see how it works with a frame bag. From previous experience I'll end up picking a gear and sticking to it for all but the road sections!
