Bonthrone Bikes in Fulham has changed its name to Swim Bike Run, and is a Triathlon shop as well now, all though it is the same crew in there and still part of the Bonthrone empire - they have done me a million favors down the years and are always happy to chat. They also have some amazing time trial porn in there,a serious selection of carbon wheel porn, and both a Felt Messenger and TK2 last time i checked.
Also in Fulham is Mend A Bike in the arches off Munster road
proper old school bike shop who will do any job at short notice - stripped down my 06 Langster, and removed the top tube braze ons for 20 quid before i took it off to be powder coated, the cool thing was that besides doing it for twenty quid they did it in 3 hours on the afternoon i went in, having just been passing and deciding to stop and enquire if they could take out the BB for me as i could strip the rest of the bike meself. Top tube was as smooth as a babys bottom after too.

Now, is it just me, or is that really dumb?
This is a trick nicked from the custom bike scene - in fact it is quite common to see custom bikes with sprocket rotors:

I have seen the front sprocket rotor too - i have been considering building one for a ss mtb i am working on - it does work very well . . well unless the chain snaps!

A bit late but . .
I bought a DH bike back on BA from Denver to Heathrow in a Da Kine Bike Bag:
http://www.asilvertouch.com/articles.php?id=85

t was viewed as Sporting goods second bag, and although it came in over the 40kg limit they didnt bother charging me as flight wasnt full.
I bought the bag in Colorado, and sold it when i got back for what i paid for it.
I do regular trips to New York to buy snowboard kit, i just buy a wheelie board bag out there, load it up with all the gear i want and bring it back - customs never said anything, and BA has never charged me, then sell the bag on ebay when i get back.
Last year i traveled to OZ and came back via LA - i had a 10 hour stop over so went out and bought about a grands worth of snowboard kit, and just carried it on as hand luggage and didnt get stopped at customs either.

no thats why we invented logic, because some answers, and ways of thinking are better then others, and the more we test our ways of thinking the better we can make them.
have fun with your arroporn
Did we invent logic? Or did Dr Arrospock . . . logic is illogical, we use it to rationalize the irrational and justify the unjustifiable . . life is simple and most of the time we think too much, when we should just get on with it.
If i like something and find it beautifull, to me its art. If i don't like something, and someone else does thats their business not mine.
Anyway it has occurred to me that its utterly illogical to be having an argument on the internet when the sun is shining and my bike (which is a long way from being remotely qualified as bike porn) is primed for riding

please do not refer to a bike as art again, or your death will not be pleasant.
Well let me qualify it by saying mechanical art - there is a great deal of artistry that goes into a bike like that, however i do think a bike which is built just to be looked at and not properly ridden is not art as for me the beauty is in the combination of form and function being hammered down the road at full pelt.
I build custom chops and bobbers, and consider them rolling art, however i cant stand to see ridiculous custom builds built for shows and the kings road that need something like Wandsworth roundabout just to do a U Turn, the beauty is in designing and building a sled that looks as good as it rides - that is mechanical art.
Besides if you dont see a nice frame as art (art being the quality, production, expression, or realm, according to aesthetic principles, of what is beautiful, appealing, or of more than ordinary significance) why are you on here, the journey that has lead you to a love of pedaling and the appreciation of all thing fixed must meant that whether you acknowledge it or not there is a part of you that lusts after the fine art of quality frame building.

I have to say that Walkersans work is right up my street - apart from the saddle this is my dream bike.

Armourtex are doing my frame and forks (Langster 06), stem, and cranks matt black next week whilst i am in france - will be able to post pic when back.
Charging 80 quid for the lot, but that is because Alu fram harder to prep - if it was steel the would have charged for 60 quid for the lot, or 45 for frame and forks only.
