1st post and all that, so hello.
used to see the boys on fixed gears down at Brixton skate park, probably 6 years back. Living in Nuremberg, Germany now. after checking FG gallery every morning for the last 2 years, seeing the whole world go fixed and reading you guys bittering on here ...
the time has come:
I'm mid build... As you can see I was kinda aiming for the white white white look. Yes, its this season's new black. It's a Krabo frame - Krautscheid - traditional bike manufacturer based out of Bochum, Germany. But its not so white white and I'm not 100% sure about the frame anyway.
So the question is:
Shall I strip it and get it powdercoated white?
Shall I sell it, stop messin with the conversion and get a track frame?
Put the Krabo aside - and convert my green peugeot road frame?
Buy this new - old stock Eddy frame from this shop near me, even though I know puppies will indeed die?Or stop wasting time, get a crankset and start pedalling?
rob
I like that, stick with it and keep the original paint job

Object has a point, and I agree with Pajamas to an extent in that you have to draw a line somewhere, but seeing as the bike is now a SS its all good by me, plus when my Aende is finished and i post up my pic and pics of my bike, i will include a pic of my geared bike so that if you folks see me you can say hello or give me the finger as you see fit.
- 1 to Donuts lady for getting involved, afterall thats what its all about at the end of the day.
Its nice to see someone post up a bike that they have to get into riding, rather than a hey look at me hipsterfest of a bike that has been bought for all the wrong reasons.

I bought a girlfriend a specialized, first day she took it out she locked it up just through the front wheel - surprise surprise when she came back all that was left was the front wheel - girlfriend fail
That's a nice bike, reminds me of my SS which is stealthed out and running Pace Carbons up front:

4 and a half pounds is a fairly hefty chunk of metal to carry around on a bicycle - that is like always carrying around an extra set of (heavy) wheels or a second (not very light) extra bike frame strapped to your back.
Should I self issue a HTFU ?
Remember: human shit makes a bike safe.
Heavy but worth it, i carry round 2 Kryp New Yorks at the mo anyway, and have been thinking of why there isnt a product like this for a while, then just happend to clock it in the shop . .
I sense a new project for you Tynan . . maybe you could apply your light sabre coating, and turn it into a flasher too!

Saw this in a motorcycle shop today - i think i am going to pick one up, if you attempt to saw through or tamper with the lock in anyway a 110db alarm goes off . .
http://www.xenasecurity.com/product/bullett/main/XULSeries/XUL102/page1/

comes in various sizes, and the do a cable lock too where the cable forms the circuit
Anyone used one?
Looks like they are a great bit of kit, 66 quid
