incidentally- how naff and old do you care about things being?
I have a few bits here that i could donate once i've built up a bike for a friend. Are old 5 speed rear wheels any use? at all? i have a few. and maybe a few front, and maybe some old drop bars. and thats about it.
Wheels are good as long as they spin not rusted to bits.

got a an old alloy 27.2 seatpost you can have. looks crap but is perfectly serviceable.
i'm in brighton, tho, and going to france for a week tomorrow. pm me if you want it, tho, and i can pop it in the post / bring it up to london sometime after the 14th.
I'll check and see if a 27.2 is needed. I have a couple frames to collect that may need one. I'll let you know as soon as I do...

Mate, a ladies frame is most welcome!
clefty, tyres are always useful on polo bikes, please do pass them on to Roxy.
Anybody else got some freebies? Really could use randoms like a couple bashed saddles, seatposts, stems and headsets. Pretty much sorted for BB's cranks, pedals, bars and frames.
Wheels are the hardest thing to come by so if anybody has any buckled wheels, shoddy hubs (fixed or free), well worn out rims etc. etc. Almost nothing would be considered too 'junk'.

not true....ignore.
Myself and many other track riders (some bigger sprinters than I) use power links so that they can easily swap chains and change gearing at track meetings......power links eliminate stiff links and I've never had a problem with them either on the track or 8 years 5 days a week as a courier.
the most stress a chain will take is a sharp acceleration ( away from traffic lights?) this will be the same whether riding fixed or freewheel, reverse pressure such as skidding or stopping is less anyway.
Yep, this has always been the general consensus through practice...
20°C W 12 mph **
17°C W 9 mph 19 mph
Maybe I just want to hear you say it sooo much! After mankini pisumo and all... x
