A superb weekend. The Isle of Wight cycle route really has a lot to offer in terms of green lanes, open fields, and sea views from cliff-tops and quaysides.
Had a hoot with the Tipi crew. Big Thanks to T4NYA for making this happen.
Just didn't have the legs to cycle back from Portsmouth, given the wind and all the hospitality I'd partken around the campfire. But next year ...
On the cliff top at Freshwater.

Re: cycling back from Portsmouth, I'll look into routes this eve then. Mapping sites +crib sheets have worked in the past.
Tee-pee people, I'm thinking of breakfast on Sun morn, It's looks like one of four options:
1)getting organised enouh to make campfire food ( provisions needed and maybe some more pots and pans) .
2) forming an orderly queue at the microwave. each to their own food.
3) cycling into Ryde in the hope of finding a Pret a Manger.
4) energy bar then ride to the first checkpoint for their tea and sticky buns.Campfires are great but only for sitting round, cooking is usually much better done on a primus stove, which I don't have, so Im imagining option 2.
List of who's bringing what to the party:
Dropout. -Teabags, milk, porridge, butter, eggs. -

it was banana bread dammit... I mean dropout...
banana cake / banana bread ...the difference is in the manna of baking.
/chanelling O.Schik.Were any pint glasses abused?
I think someone put a bit of plant in one but it's not quite on the same level as pissing in it.
Braker made entertaining use of a tongue-like plant leaf, which like a ventroiloquist's dummy had 'a life of its own'.
to know him is to love him.

Well I reckon we had one of the best nights out that London could have offered on Easter Saturday: Cheers John.
Speedy smooth ride with no issues, quiet roads, some pacey new blacktop; rolling conversation, night sights and sounds. Yep, Barbican is a winner, but lilac-scented Kensington was also a seasonal treat that I'm glad to have bagged.
Went from pleasant to surreal with the beer search bringing us scantily-clad bunny boys in Soho then passing ourselves off as restaurant workers to cadge our way into a rammed O'Neils!
Good to have met you again, John, Chris, Alex and Alex (P.Pedals). And likeswise new faces: Ash, Dan, Matt, Sam and Boris.
Not sure what time I got in, [then again, I rely on Nelaii for time checks. :) ]

Your clue made me work hard, Habbi
'Quite scenic, isn’t it? Roger Bannister would probably run a mile from there'
The Bannister reference lead me, eventually to Iffley Road track, Oxford, where He had run the first sub four minute mile.John Campbell Scenic Artists Studio for stage, t.v. and film. 41, Iffley Road, W6.
Keeping a somewhat stagey theme:
It's 24 hours from it's closest neighbour? Joy Division wouldn't know it; nor would Alexz Thomson. Burt Bacharach should but would ask the way.

Didn't spot any gloves 'fraid Corny.
Big fail trying to lead Dan and you down Smugglers Way for the scenic river route to Wandsworth Bridge.
But the image playing in my mind and keeping me giggling was McCarthy hitting the ramp of Putney Bridge at such speed on his 'delivery bike' so as to describe an airbourne arc, a la ET.

Toni and Niall,
I arrived late in the evening to the reception, and had a wonderful time: dancing and laughter. Toni shimmying with a train, me skidding around in cleated shoes,
Liked your Ewan MacGregor tale, Niall, is that in the Spotted thread yet? Many good ole' forum folk and a pleasure to meet some of your family and friends.
Well done both- you're big hearted people and it was a treat to share some of your special day.

A rare trip to The Royal Sovereign for me last night
I'd forgotten how much the quiz adds to the night: impossible not to get competitive: Easts is Dead- you were robbed and I blame Edwin 'Buzz' Aldrin!
Good to meet new faces and old; Shush, Mobidog; fruitbat.
Most importantly- All the very best to Toni and Niall for the weekend- hope it all goes to plan and that you get to enjoy the day itself.

looks like dropouts multi-position-bars in the pic too.
Yes Dropout's German pensioner handlebars and hoefla's bar ends.
did you just take a photo of the back of a dSLR?
If that's some improvised night-vision, I doff my cap!Cheapo camera supplemented with my powerful Exposure front light.
I dunno; google image search (Charles 1 mural London) found it first hit. I just think it would be courteous of people to write about the location when they post a pic - and preferably a pic they have already resized.
I'm uncomfortable about shoving the pics up without explanation, but as Tom says:
That update (by fox, on behalf of dropout) was done from SE Beers at the Roebuck, due to fear of being sniped, which is why it's a bit all over the place. It is indeed it at the junction of Peckham Park Rd and OKR, Joe.S gets a prize.
Well as we now know, it is at the junction of OKR and Peckham Park Rd.
A really worthwhile piece of public art, in an a location which does not draw the attention it deserves- so an excellant tag, Mr 6pt!
hoefla and I had determined to have a go at a joint-tag but daylight and battrery life were constraining us. By the time we were arrived at SE Beers, Hatbeard, Spybot, Fox, 6pt Rhowe and other regulars on this thread were there, so it seemed to make sense to talk about the tag just bagged. Dead battery meant that I coldn't upload anything myself though. excellant eve. btw.

nooo! can't you get it fixed today?
Not got a Phil bottom bracket cup wrench tool type item such as is needed to get it out.
Not to worry though hoefla, I'll have a dig through the pile of bike shaped bits at the end of the room and see if I can cobble together something like a single speed Surly touring frame. Sure I left one there somewhere. :) -

Cheers Julia for the round, Morgan for the toob, Murts for the air, and cheers JImbilly for the thumb like tyre-levers.
Russel's suburb-bike got my vote tonight.
