get a strada or similar with 44t ring on ebay. i picked up a strada road double, 170mm cranks, 44+53t, for £28. going to use the 44t, nice gear with a 15t on the back.

Pearson cycles have an FSA chainset that includes chainring and bottom bracket for £39.95.

Dogsballs hates it, but there is no denying that it is cheap as the proverbial Jockeys whips.

Seems good quality to me at the moment- choice of 165/170/175mm.

not sure if you saw the one in my garage? cheap and cheerful, but very handy...it might be the minora one....i bought it from bobob...he may remember which one it is. I find it more convenient than using the forks/brakes method - especially for radial trueing.....
