The academy turns a profit, can't ask for more than that right now as we want to stay competitive in the PL. Nah I just like to reflect on things. People always feel I ought to have more of a point.

I was following Hodinkee on Instagram and had to unfollow, after relentless pictures of extraordinarily expensive 'timepieces' (always 'timepieces', never just watches) with legions of would-be flaneurs commenting with things like "a delightful piece of art" and "fine choice sir". All admiring the timelessness of a certain design, even though it would have been deeply unfashionable to most only a few years ago.

BTW there's no one here that irritates me, not that anyone needs my moronic opinion anyway. Here there are just normal insatiable enthusiasts. It's the moneyed acquirer of ostentatious shit that I find nauseating, coupled with being so awfully tasteful while in actuality being impressionable and nerdy.

Glad I read some of this thread as I got really irritated by a random member of public today whom commented to one of the kids in my group, "where's your helmet? You should always wear one"

At which point I got involved. To cut a long story short, she felt that when riding a bike one should ALWAYS be worn to be 'safe' yet looked bemused when I asked and what would happen if she tripped over the on the pavement, fell and smashed her own skull? where was her helmet? (#notaladyboy)
She then said that she was riding to Paris and would be wearing one all the way. I asked what training she'd done to be able to ride safely on the road, to effectively communicate with other road users and to take up sensible road positions?
Her: None.....

I don't know why it managed to get under my skin but it threw me off for the rest of the afternoon.

What the hell was going on last night, was it national cycling on the pavement evening in London city?

First incident happened by the Tesco near Liverpool street station, all the buses were backed up so nearly every cyclist decided to cycle around the buses by cycling on the pavement. It;s bad enough with just the peds but add the cyclist was a nightmare, not one of them walked there bikes all just cycled through scattering peds left, right and centre.

Second incident again due to the buses a group of Boris bikers cycling on the pavement right outside the Cop shop while two coppers stood by and did nothing while the peds again had to scatter.

Third incident waiting at the lights with a few others, when a shout goes out to move, we all look round to see yet again two **Boris **Bikers cycle across the pavement through the waiting crowd so that they didn't have to wait at the red light. Could have been an horrific accident as the lady on the BB went through a lady standing at the light's bag got caught on the handlebars, dragging this lady into the road. Luckily no cars were passing at the time. The lady on the BB then just removed the bag and let it drop into the road and cycled off. Can't fucking believe it, still making me mad while typing this.
