the bolt that points into the frame is so important. The first version that kona released came without making the dropout slip forward. I spent so much time thanking my lucky stars that nought serious happened each and every time my chain was thrown.

Are you voting for Boris just cause he's a Tory? Or is it cause he forgot to vote about Crossrail, wants minimal amounts of affordable housing for London, wants to withdraw from the Kyoto agreement, is being used as a figurehead because he has mild 'celebrity' status (see Republicans using Arnie to win power), calls black people 'piccaninnies' and has had little involvement in London before this campaign.

chris crash
velocity boy
hippy
velocity boy I think it's a good idea and have been thinking about something similar for the next bike I get. Steel frame, but replaceable ends.
Why? I mean, how many people on here have trashed their ends? I guess it would be nice, especially on alu frame, to be able to swap out a chewed track end but I'd just buy a new bike :)
I was kinda thinking of being able to convert geared to fixed and vice versa and have the right ends for the job. The reason being is that for touring I want full mudguards and gears, the full mudguards imply vertical drop for alignment of the wheel and puncture repair without touching the mudguards. But when not touring and needing the full 'guards I'd want fixed, and vertical is no good for that and I've heard a lot about creaking EBB's so like the idea of track ends then. Being able to take a set of ends off and swap them gives both.
I ponder things like this all the time. Doesn't mean I'm going to do it, I just wonder what a bike that could do everything would look like and how much of it could be built in a really durable and timeless way.
they other guy at brew with me was building an ss mtb with a rear disk, he had some closed horizontal drops that the vertical drops for the axel with the disk mounts fitted into. the company makes all kind of different ends that bolt into the closed horizontal ones. i can never remember the name though.
I've never understood why nobody makes horizontal drops with a hanger? (Or am I asking a dumb question?)

OK, I AM SORRY. But I feel very strongly about thieves, cunt drivers and the lack of policing around them. A bus driver was extremely aggressive towards me with no reason and then purposely hit me with his bus (188) a few weeks back. When the police arrived they treated me like the criminal and showed no interest in following up my complaint. So when I hear of stories like Danger Joel's my blood boils. I think if you're lucky enough to know/or have a link to the perpetrator something must be done- by any means necessary.

...even if its a sneaky banana up the tail pipe- they don't tend to like it up 'em!

cheers peeps. I got lucky on a brand new pair of Dura Ace 7400s but I'm struggling to get my head around $100 for Toshi double straps(not inc P&P).
Good skillz fc9K!!! Loving that link for D.I.Y joining up 2 singles yourself. I'll take a little trip toDeptdirtford High street for some cheapo codura or leather. -
I've always used spds, but for my new build I'm gonna go with clips- I wanna wear what ever footwear I want.
Whats the score with straps? Single or double? Leather? laminated?
Is there really a need for the professional Keirin Toshi brand or overkill for London roads?
I haven't heard good things about the Cinelli staps...What are your thoughts and experiences? -
