Anyone know if you can get (excuse crap non-technical language) spacers for an old style quill headset? Am converting one and need some. Also anyone know if you can you get the top part of the old headset in black with no beveled edges as it looks awful. Ta.

I have been looking at other forums for but thought it might be also worth posting here as a few people seem to have road bikes. I picked up a cheap small Italian frame on the bay a while back and that's why i am in this pickle. I have now stupidly agreed to build my girlfriend a road bike but a) i don't know how and b) i don't have any tools. I have a good book though.
So I need help and parts.
So far I have frame, bottom bracket and wheels with cassette. Er, anyone got any other cheap but nice road parts to sell?
Oh and anyone know the best way to get the difficult parts fitted. Went in to BLB as its near my office and they wanted £15 for fitting a bottom bracket. Would rather pay someone with the tools a tenner or buy them some beers (in tins).
Anyways, if anyone has any ideas give us a shout or get in touch. Ta.

I just returned from Denmark (see attached pictures) and cyclists are seen in a very different light. They get right of way over cars, have parking everywhere and live in a culture where there are so many bikes that a tiny lock on your bike, that is not even attached to anything, will suffice in keeping your bike safe. See attached picture of the bikes outside the main train station in Copenhagen. It was so nice to see. They also have their own part of the road that cant be used by cars or pedestrians. I guess our problem is that a) we don't have the space on the roads and b) cycling is being adapted into our roads (lanes etc...) whereas the Danes have grown up with that being the norm.

Ouch.
