We get them about every other year what with all the foxes, squirrels and other feral cats knocking about. We have had some success with tablet treatments rather than spot on (crushed up and mixed in with those honkin salmon yogurt tube things (pukes in mouth). That and the sprays, liberally, everywhere. And also a couple of sticky traps in the worst areas. The ones with the tiny incandescent bulb that mimics body heat. The latter are mostly good for tracking the decline of the infestation.

@ChasnotRobert pros for sure. But also I watched a youtube video where someone was testing the different methods of getting rid of them. One of the best was getting the pros in to roast the fuckers (they seal off the place and put big heaters in and get the whole house up to something like 60 degrees for a period of time which kills them all). But a VERY good DIY method was diatomaceous earth. Spread that around in specific areas and it coats the fuckers. They then spread it to the rest of their blood sucking brethren quick smart. It causes them to dry out and die. It worked infinitely better than any of the chemical solutions.
I'll try and find the video.

I was fine using my 2x27", until one day I opened up my laptop on the desk in front of them and haven't looked back. It used to sit in the vertical stand that is sitting empty under the LH monitor, if anyone wants it. I have a cheap version of one of those additional 15.6" monitors that I bought for taking into the office (two weeks later they bought proper monitors for all the desks..) so that might creep in soon. If I can be arsed to tidy my desk.
Left hand screen is for UI and other Chrome related nonsense I need to present on customer calls. Webcam is on top of that monitor so if the customer is particularly sociable and wants cameras on, then I am looking vaguely in their direction. RH is for email, excel or anything else I would need to support the call/presentation but does not need to be shared. Laptop is for teams and Firefox/Whatsapp/personal browsing. Mic is in the webcam (some silly ASUS ROG one that was well reviewed and on sale) and speakers are PreSonus Eris E5 Bluetooth studio monitors. I had to put them on angled risers as they are hilariously directional (I shouldn't have bought monitors) but they work really well with the webcam mic. Sound on the other end of calls (or recordings) is great and the sound this end is fantastic.

We have a drain under the downspout at the front of the house, it goes perpendicular from the house out towards the road. It takes the roof run off from me and my neighbour. It has always been slow draining but only ever a problem in massive downpours.
I got an extension for my Karcher K2 but could only get so far. Thinking mine was just weedy, I called in some pros, who then couldn't get any further either.
They came back out, lifted a slab, removed the U-bend and stuck a camera down and found a root mass.
They came back out with a picote milling machine and cleared the root mass, stuck the camera down again, only to find that the drain runs smack into a line of bricks, which were the old footings from the front yard wall. First thought was that whoever installed the old wall just cut through the drain. But we went and had a look at the next two identical houses (ours is in a run of four) and theirs just dumps the downspout onto the floor. So we now think the weird drain was a shit attempt at a soakaway or it was just put in for looks.
£1200 to clear a drain that goes nowhere. FML
