Nice to see it getting more interesting again.
I've liked Bauge since that amazing skid evasion he did when Tournant crashed on him.
Sounds heart-stoppingly close, though:
http://www.cyclingnews.com/races/uci-track-world-championships-cm/session-7/results
Was Sireau who crashed into him last year, and Hoy should have won that 3rd race, Bauge made a bad mistake being too high on the track and going too slow with a lap to go and Hoy went underneath him, he tried to give Bauge a flick lost control slightly and backed off, that cost him the win..needs to do more work on bike handling skills and having a more relaxed upper body...

I bet Crampton's gutted he didn't make the final - he finished faster than Hoy, and looked far less ragged. He'll fucking destroy the field in 2012. There. I've said it.
I emailed him that very same thing! He just got too cautious in the semi when he should have just disapeared with 1.5 laps to go....

If you keep a training diary and log your sleep and waking pulse you will soon see a patten forming that will give you all the clues of a cold/illness approaching long before you get show any symptoms.
If you back off your training then and get some good rest you often find the illness passed really quick and you can get back to training.
Training while your body is fighting an illness is only gonna make the body tired and so it will take longer to fight off the illness.
eg: If your waking pulse is between 44 and 46bpm and you wake to find you have a pulse of 51bpm yet you have had the normal amount of sleep and you training the day before was not intense you need to keep an eye on your rest. Take it easy that day any get an early night. If it's still high the next day you probably have an illness in the wings... back off the training let the body do it's work.
What he said, over resting is always better than over training

This two day clinic will cover track sprinting race tactics in great detail on day one, with both video feedback and expert analysis after each effort. Day two we will cover Keirin race tactics with the same detail. This is a great opportunity to practice race tactics with expert feedback from two of the world's best sprint coaches.
Saturday’s session starts at 12pm with riders arriving and hopefully being able to have a go on WATT bikes before the rider briefing at 1pm, the session will finish at approx 6.15pm
Sunday there will be a road ride at 9.30 of approx 60 minutes and then we will be back at the track at 1pm for a rider briefing and finishing at approx 6pm.
Cost is £150 for the weekend's coaching and track time. Again this will be a limited size camp to ensure each rider gets a lot of individual attention and feedback. Don't listen to them. Almost all of my speed on the track came from hill climbing last season. Thats pretty much all I did. I don't have very good aerobic fitness as the long races kill me, but I can move the bike quickly when I need to. Most of my leg muscle mass came from doing these same hill reps
erm I am going to disagree, you would have got some aerobic fitness and lactate tolarence from the hill work but no speed. That came from the fact you are gifted Mike. As the Auzzie boy said, if time is limited spend as much of it doing what you will do in the events you are training for......
If you want to get good at hill climbing climb hills, if you want to be good on the track ride at speeds which replicate race speeds and do some sprint work at race cadence.
