They are good, depends on how much time you have, they are about 10 mins walk from the hospital. Closes at 3pm.

The only issue I had with Scan was that they only had 1 person who was able to deal with custom builds that are not one of the configurations on their website, and that person was not the best in replying to requests etc. I waited patiently for about 3 weeks with multiple chase up calls/emails, but he never got back to me, so in the end, I gave up. Others wanted to help, but couldn't or something, I can't remember now,

I had mine built with overclockers, they were a little sloppy in places but overall, my experience was positive. Their prices also go up and down a lot and when I found out between my placing an order and before I received the machine, the prices had dropped, they did refund me the difference upon request.

Some of you might remember I had a dodgy motherboard and they initially refused to replace it as their tests said there was nothing wrong despite sending a video clearly showing the faults. In the end, I told them I will return the whole machine as it was still within 30 days and they then gave me a different motherboard.

So it was an OK experience but it wasn't without issues... I think I paid something like £150 for their to build the machine.

I guess they would offer me the new costumer deal too if I asked, but in the previous years, when I renewed, they always insisted to charge me another set of set up fees and admin fees and every time I had to make a complaint to have those fees waived... 🤷🏻‍♀️

That's very considerate of them! Imagine any of our employers doing that? I bet mine wouldn't even send flowers if I ended up in hospital with work related injuries/illnesses.

My experience with Amazon has always been if it's broken, we will give you a full refund and you return the junk to us... I am not sure if a VR headset is something if anyone would bother fixing or not, but I think I will go JL.

The headset is £299 everywhere even on Amazon, unless I was brave enough to get it from a site nobody has heard of, in which case, it's £20 less... I think I will pay the extra £20.

Has anyone got any experience with making a warranty claim with John Lewis? I have decided to get the Oculus Quest 2 and price is the same everywhere but JL offers their signature 2 years warranty, which is very tempting. BUT, if I ever need to make a claim and they are difficult to deal with then I will probably go to Amazon because they are very easy to deal with.

Question for the floor - is the cheaper plan enough for gaming? I am not a gamer and very rarely play games but I want to get a VR headset because lockdown has finally broken me. Would the cheaper plan be enough? I live in my own so for nobody to fight with me.

Sky really is taking the piss, in my 18 months contract that includes 2 x April, they have increased £2 and then £3. Was gonna leave last April but WFH and COVID meant any changes would risk no internet for days... now worse case, I can pop into the office.

And 4G is a no go. Too slow and some areas in the flat don’t have stable 4G...

Very tempted. Any issue with the switch over? Downtime? Drama?
