I arguably weigh more than what I should.
I have a pretty healthy diet, I exercise, and I feel like I would be happier if I was thinner. And I'm a tough punk(esque) girl who doesn't like conforming to anyones standards.
I'm with a lovely man who likes me no matter what.
I would still love to be a size or two smaller, and feel, deep inside, that I would be a better person if I was thinner, even though I also know I wouldn't be.I just wish there wasn't so much weight placed on our...errr....weight.
I don't know you, so forgive me if I'm out of line:
you seem to have a very healthy and honest opinion of yourself; you seem to be self confident and sorted, healthy and happy. Dropping a few pounds wouldn't make you any happier - that's a load of toss you've picked up from magazines and other media.
Rise above the bullshit! -

Too fat.. too skinny... too fucking blah blah. Measuring health vis a vis a perception of what is normal isn't very constructive.
Everyone has a duty and a responsibility to keep themselves healthy - and let's face it it's not rocket surgery:
eat sensible amounts of fresh fruit and veg, avoid too much fatty processed food, exercise regularly, don't drink too much and don't smoke. being a bit under or over weight compared to some mythic average is irrelevant -

It's funny how our brains are pre-programmed with face recognition software.
Two sets of eyes are just not right. Makes me dizzy...It's one of many reasons to believe in evolution. The way that all mammals, birds and even reptiles instinctively recognize the eyes as the point of contact in each other surely suggests a common ancestry.
I think I read that somewhere once.
Or it could be a load of toss.

There's the Parkland Walk down from Highgate Tube to Finsbury Park.
It's only a two mile stretch of the journey, but it's a lovely route. From Finsbury Park, she could go down Green Lanes, past Clissold park, then through the relatively quiet streets of Cannonbury to get to Upper Street.
The Parkland Walk can get a bit muddy - best tackled with fat tyres -

Strikes me that pretty much any useful to do with bikes got dealt with by mid 2008, and is filed under UTFS.
The forum is now littered with any old crap - football, cooking, East European Women's Hopscotch Leagues - whatever.
And that's fine if that's what you all want. But this will soon be dead as a useful bike forum, if it isn't already.
Having said that, I only ever bother to read the threads where the mob gang-bangs some dopey noob who pops his head over the parapet. Roll on! -
There's an estate full of scumbags near there. Two of them tried to fucking kill me a couple of years ago

Here's an email I got from the cops about abandoned bikes:
*Dear Dan,
Whilst I appreciate your sentiments regarding unattended bikes in bike racks I am afraid that the Metropolitan Police Service is unable to give you permission to remove any of these.
For your information to be accused of stealing the property must have an owner. This is not only in law but also logically because if it does not have an owner then it is highly doubtful that anyone would inform us that the bike has gone and thus make an allegation of theft.
As regards to a removal policy I can only assume that the Local Authority are responsible for the removal of bikes in a similar way they are to cars so if you give them a ring they may be able to assist.
Hope this helps
Alan Draper
Inspector - Westminster North OCU*When he says it needs to have an owner in order to be stolen, he's basically saying that no-one will give a toss if you take an abandoned bike. Think of it this way: if you cleared a dumped fridge off the street, it would be regarded as a public service

Last night on Essex Road there was a gang of teens on scooters buzzing cyclists. They were lunging in really close as they went by, and smacking bus windows, beeping their horns etc. Then a scooter with two kids pulled up alongside me and the pillion passenger punched me in the side of the head. I was OK, I had space to swerve left and they sped off laughing, but these kids are a fucking menace, and someone could get really hurt.
There were three grey scooters and a small white motorbike. Kids all in black helmets and grey tracksuits. Watch out for them.
Police informed.(Interesting that they are running a RLJ trap on Essex road this morning; let's hope they hang around till the evening rush hour and nab these little cunts)

Still don;t get why lots of candidates have jumped on the 'Paris-style bike hire scheme' bandwagon, its a totally shite idea, waste of cash.
Ditto 'More Cycle Lanes' clarion call. Aren't they listening to what cyclists say? Thought not.
Just stop people nicking our rides, stop people running us over, and stop telling us we're naughty all the time... I don't see anyone getting a ticket for jumping red lights in cars, vans, buses ...
I know what you're saying, but I think you're looking at this from a slightly selfish point of view. The Mayor isn't going to spend a lot of effort and money improving conditions for the hard core cyclists who already ride in London. London's cycling strategy should initially concentrate on getting more people to cycle, by tackling the issues that currently prevent people from riding. I think the bike hire scheme, more cycle lanes and the 12 "cycle corridors" coming into the city will encourage people to try it.
When enough people are cycling in that they represent a significant electoral number, then we can start making more specific demands for improving security and even changing traffic laws to favour bikes over cars.I've voted for Ken.

My brake failed this morning! Coming down Caledonian road, I pulled on the brakes and felt the front one go, as if the cable had snapped. After a pretty hairy few seconds trying to come to a stop with just the back, I have a closer look. The anchor bolt is completely loose; no thread left to screw into the brake arm.
Bugger. Had to walk from Kings Cross, too wet to rely on my back brake. Now I'm really fucking wet and pissed off. -
