Rooski Hi, I was also looking at the ACI Alpina spokes as a cheaper alternative to DT or Sapins. They are made in Italy so i guess they are nice spokes. Alpina's 2mm/ 1.7mm/ 2mm is pretty close to the DT revolutions 2/1.5/2. I'm guessing they are all made from a similar grade of steel. Can anyone confirm ACI Alpina are nice spokes?
On my google searches into the early hours i did find some even cheaper db spokes - 100 for £10!
http://www.universalcyclecentre.co.uk/Genstock.htm
(Not sure what the thicknesses are, and they are sold in very long lengths so would need cutting and threading - not worth the hassle of buying tools to do that!)
Unxetas, as it happens I'm after some 292mm spokes, and also need about 70. If they are going spare, do you want to go halves? At the bike shop i work at we use Alpina spokes a lot, my wheels are currently built using them too and alls good, even after taking a beating through some pot holes. But good spokes also become better with the combintion of what they are attached to. So if you have a cheap rim or cheap hub, the wheel will only be as strong as its weakest part. saying that though, good spokes are well worth the few extra pennies even on cheap rim and hub builds. hope this helps, i give Alpina the thumbs up.

ah bloody hell what a load of fuss. trying to explain things on a bloody forum is hard and time consuming,so due to my computer lazyness I give up trying to get my thoughts across! until they have a doodle function so i can do little diagrams to aid my shite descriptions!
mmm just had a mincepie, damn they are good. -
not on the bike, on the fork.... the only reason (other than being quirky/different) i can think why the brake would be mounted on the bac k of the for is because its not giving the brake that is being used enough tire clearence....however i am guessing all this from a side on picture mind. I'll have to send the pic to the CSI lab to get a full 3d pic so i can confirm my assuptions....

ive bumped up my houshold to cover over seas, but it still only covers it if its locked up in a locked building/garage.....which luck or not for me when my bike was stolen i was covered! but then they wanted to up the cost of the insurence next time round, so i changed insurence. to be honest id like to see what other people say and reccomend because it all seems to be fooking expencive for next to no 'useful' cover!
