Sunday looks nice then...

The one off the bay went back to the seller (don't think he really knew what he was doing...or about as much as me). There were a few probs with it. The rear hub was not stepped - just a bog standard freewheel (which he had called 'track'). I didn't want to go suicide on my first fixed. There was a fork issue in there too....but the guy was very cool about it all and took it back no fuss.

So I just got a bargain Peugeot (i know, i know...) for £60 which I stripped down and am using now, along with the geared bike I commute on. In a month or two I'll get a new wheelset built up...then new frame... then we're away.

Ha, even my best offer would be an insult. The post-Christmas, post-multiple-birthday, post-anniversary money crunch, coupled with working in the most underpaid sector of the media, means that my wallet is not exactly bulging at the moment.

Would be nice to see shearer in the mix somewhere for the future, but it's a great move. Maybe he's happy with the £££ from pundit work, so Coleman would be another fine choice. I don't think KK would have come back into managing for many teams either. Now if the management could calm the fuck down and give him a few season, we might get somewhere.

Didn't think it was worth starting a fresh thread for this, so... this didn't sell after all. (bidding went up to 195 and reserve wasn't met.) But I still love this bike.
IF, and only if, the guy was willing to sell this to me for something like 200GN, would it be worth it?

like spend money I don't have
on a bike I have no space for...
am I missing anything here? Would it be a fortune to maintain? Is there a howler in there that should be warning me to stay clear? It looks good to ride as it is (but obviously one day I'd restore it to its former glory). But those forks, that stem and bars, the whole shape of the thing: damn it's cool.

Aside from the 27 inch wheel issue, has anyone go any thoughts as to why this wasn't already snapped up? Cheers all

Coming down Chelsea Embankment just before Christmas I saw a bus pulled over at the end of the line. The driver was on the pavement using a skipping rope, which reminded me that they can be human after all.
