I really enjoyed it - the 20k was punishing though. It is a bit of a shame that the season is over now really. I feel like I've improved a lot over the year, and look forward to getting stuck in a bit earlier next year.
It's a roadie race really
I disagree, I think a that the stamina/endurance required to do the 20k can't do you any harm in any race.

Hi everyone,
I have just sorted out a stem for sale. It is 80mm long and the Ambrosio Venturi model, as seen here: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=37917. It fits normal 26mm handlebars. It is very lightweight at only 110g (lighter than my carbon fibre stem, for example).
It has a bit of a scratch on the top (if you have it the normal way up - bottom if not) where I fell off once.
Other than that it is a nice stem, the black and silver making it go with a retro, classic or modern build.
I'd like £10 for it, and it can be picked up from Herne Hill or I could deliver to some drinks.

Glad you said that. I collated a bit of data about this. Whilst 120 seems to be the stem length of choice, there are a decent number of 130s and 140s there. In order to make it a bit more meaningful, I have included the rider's height and top tube length. Click the links for the original data and pictures.

I watched both videos. So mad and interesting.
What I think is kinda amazing is that the abilities of that kit that he has on version 1 of his bicycle can probably be put on a smart phone + and some accessories.
Yeah, I think most of it has already been done. It would be interesting to see what he is up to/riding on now.
What I couldn't quite understand is why he needed so many devices just to operate the bicycle, aside from all the other stuff he was doing. I couldn't quite see the point of the electronic gear shifting, for example. But I guess he is a hacker having fun so hardly needs a reason.

Looks like it was a thoroughly enjoyable evening for all involved. Looks like we have a new champ as well!
