I'm going to sleep on it but I reckon I'm going for the full monty, strip it and complete the rebuild over the winter.

I've done and bought loads already, the rear sub frame and lots of parts are already powder coated, new stainless fixings, exhaust and silencers, loads of new seals and minor but expensive bits.

The frame paint was terrible and the engine casings are crusty, I've masked and sprayed the frame with the engine in situ but...

The clutch seal is leaking, the splines haven't been lubed in my time and I'll bet not for a long time. Everything I've stripped and rebuilt was in neglected condition including finding an inch and a half of thick sludge in the fork bottoms!

I'll see how I feel tomorrow.

Sitting in the studio masking off bmw bolts for spraying instead of making art.

Dilema, do I keep aiming for the bike back on the road this summer whiuch may or may not happen, or do I bite the bullet strip out the frame and have the frame and fixings powder coated? This gives me the opportunity to have the engine and gearbox striped and checked over.

Then I can assemble it in those long cold dark boring wet winter nights which are not wednesday and so do not have east beers.

Reliable in its day, but now very old, any bike of that age will take a lot of looking after. If you specifically want an older bike of that size I would go for a honda RS250, very very reliable and a lot more fun than a wet dream.

If you just want a reliable bike, a honda cb350 is still old but newer than an rs250 and would be a good bet, or any of the modern middle weights

Seller is confused, that is a honda dream not a super dream.
