You can MIG bikes. I have. Hell of a lot easier than TIG for a beginner.
Nes - I'd like to join in on the Nov 10th workshop thing. I can bring bike bits and ideas but I'll need to share a welder.
you coming to manchester? if yep then i'll check the date..it was a random guess at when it might be good, it'll be over that wekend though
bruce, who does loads of welding will be there, with his welder to help. Plus I'll ask my friend who has a tall bike and who is starting to build frames

honestly guys whats wrong with playing at platt fields just once to get some people in - not everyones gonna turn up at 6.30 on the dot - if we fuck off to manley park some new people might arrive late and not bother again
plus nolo just sent this out:
"There is a taster session this evening for those that want to play, meeting at Owen's Park entrance at 7:30. Mallets and stuff provided, though bring a bike if you can. Come along and give it a try!"So they won't be there til 730pm not 630 anyway..

as i said to andy the other night. imagine you are a fresher/ young student and you see a flyer/ email telling you to ride in the dark to some random part of a city you never went before to a random park where there would be a random gang of people on bikes that you never met before...you wouldn't go...well, you probably shouldn't go. At Platt Fields it's near where students live nad know other people and they don't feel so intimidated. They can easily ride off if it looks dodgy...I just think that for a taster polo session it's more important for it to be easily accessible and nice (I think it would have been better doing it during the day at the weekend but...)
Once they have met people and seen what it's about they'll prolly feel fine about riding to parks further afield..they can even ride with others that are coming once they've met people..
know what i mean?
and yeah...no one will be on time

Plus we should just generally meet up to make some too...

Kikujiro no natsu
if you have it we can show it..
Alternatively, I have Nasu: Summer in Andalusia. A Japanese anime about the Vuelta, which we can show in February..would people wanna watch it?
Nasu: Summer in Andalusia follows the story of a professional http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spain. As the story progresses, Pepe is faced with frustrating consequences, with him facing pressure from his sponsors and the wedding of his former girlfriend, Carmen, to his elder brother, Angel, coinciding on the same day of the penultimate stage of the bicycle race, and strives to gain the respect of his team and family.

I thought maybe the Bicycle Thief in march...

Ladies and Gents,
The button-pressing age has given rise to obesity. More and more people work in sedentary office jobs. People use artificial spaces to exercise, to
step-up but not get higher, to run and not get anywhere. What are we doing
with our physicality and strength? Are we willing to sacrifice breathing clean air, balance of our ecosystem
and the future of our children for convenience? for the luxury of pressing
buttons on electrical appliances? for having it all so easy and instant
because we're just too busy? Magnificent Revolution is not ready for
environmental suicide and this is our response........We invite you all to our Human Powered Home exhibition at the The Bigger Picture: Festival of Interdependence http://thebiggerpicture2009.org/ this
coming Saturday 24th of October 09 from 10:30 till 19:30 at the Bargehouse, South Bank. You know you want a ride a bicycle that chops grass....come down and have a go on a true chopper and other human powered delights that we've built! The Bigger Picture: Festival of Interdependence is a free interactive,
living exhibition put together by nef (the new economics foundation)See you there,
Magnificent Revolution
