Great Northern Rollers Presents an evening of roller racing in support of the opening of Pedal MCR, a new community bike workshop.
Saturday 9th July. Register at 5.30pm, Race at 6pm
Pedal MCR, The Boathouse by the lake, Platt Fields Park, M14This is our first ever TEAM ROLLER RACING EVENT.
Get into a team of 3 people with colleagues or friends and race on static bikes on rollers to be the fastest team (Individuals from each team will race other team members, team with fastest average times go through to semi and then final, fastest overall team wins)
If you can't find team members in advance, we're sure there'll be other people on the day you can hook up with.

£2 donation per rider for entry

A race on bikes around the city, visiting different checkpoints.
The Tour De Manc shall feature amongst the race a hill climb and a sprint, where racers times shall be recorded over these phases.
Winners of the yellow, polka, green jerseys shall get prizes, along with the grey jersey given to the best oldest rider, and the white jersey to the best youngest rider.
Approx 20 miles overall
500m sprint

Pedal MCR Opening Celebration + Fundraiser
Pedal MCR opens in The Boathouse in Platt Fields Park, Fallowfield on Saturday 9th July for Pedal In The Park- a jam packed day of bicycling activities and workshops for all ages and abilities including wheel building workshop, bicycle treasure hunts, roller racing, bicycle powered music and much more.

11am Basic Wheel Truing Workshop

1pm Tour De Manc Alleycat Race- A race round the city stopping at checkpoints.

8pm Ride-In Cinema- Bike shorts from round the world and Feature Film.Plus pedal powered music, Wheel decorating competition, Tall Bike obstacle course, Bicycle Art Exhibition, Vegan Cafe, Raffle, Geocaching on bikes, Donate bikes and parts, Bicycle Jumble Sale + Handmade Bicycle Market. Plus learn to make useful things out of old bits of bikes!

Pete wants to do a ride on sunday. maybe to meet us in mankinholes + ride over the Oxenhope climb then a circle back to mcr via mankinholes. not sure. will check with him details and post. not sure what route he wants to take but could look something like this

Pace egg ride setting off at 9.30am from All Saints Park, Oxford Road on Good Friday. Riding roads to Castleton then maybe along canal (hard wide towpath) to littelborough then prob over blackstone edge for fun or along flatter but busier road or carry on along canal depending on weather/people's bikes/etc.
