I did 323Km and 4900m climbing in one hit yesterday. Quite a lot of gravel/rail trail, and some really rough off-road bits thrown in. Wasn't fast, and lots of faffing changing layers cos the weather was so changeable, but was lovely anyway.
Think that's the most I've done in a day, esp with that much climbing. I probably did more in 24hrs on Tour Divide, but I was so out of it, I don't remember. Legs are tired, but OK. I'm hungry today!

I just prepared all the food I'll need for a large skive off work ride tomorrow. I hate stopping at crappy shops and buying crappy food from crappy people. #curmudgeon

Sorry, I forgot ! at the end to signify a joke. I think it's just more purist and like @hanford says, 'because you love it'

I just looked up his single TD activity for 2013.
His is the King of so many mountains. Today has been utterly miserable.

Yeah, you're right to an extent, farms are being merged/enlarged, as are herds. Which is bad news for cows. But with a diminished market for dairy the remaining farmers may rethink. Problem is that farmers that have been animal abusers for generations are unlikely to suddenly switch to arable farming. Fuck them anyway.

From that Dairy is scary groiniad article
Only 10 years ago, there were about 21,000 dairy farms in England, Scotland and Wales. Industry analysts believe there will be fewer than 5,000 left by 2026.
That makes me very happy. I live in a 99% dairy farming part of the country, and it's disgusting, on top of the cruelty, the state of the rivers and roads, the amount of effluent that runs off into the sea. Wouldn't be surprised if the south coast of devon/dorset is a dead zone soon.

@moocher tried Roobois tea yet? I like it black, no sugar, bit more gentle, and doesn't oxidise as much as green/red teas.
