The slippery slope of getting a mac...
16" MBP, M1pro, 16GB, 1tb ssd - £2599. Already decided on this one mentally
But then... another £500 gives me m1max, 32gb. Sounds reasonable.
And while we're there, another £400 and I get 64gb. Also reasonable, while we're at it.
But then we're at £3299! Not reasonable. Unless I use it for 5 years. Then it's cheap.

Found this post on r/ukraine that I thought was worth a read re escalation, NATO, china etc
https://www.reddit.com/r/ukraine/comments/t6ggx2/stop_advocating_for_a_nato_direct_attack_you_do/
It's more about tactics, both political and military. If NATO and the Allies fall for Putin's provocations it's exactly what he is looking for, it will give immediately pretext to declare war on NATO and the Allies and China to jump in the conflict. By playing the defensive card and non-direct intervention, NATO is basically writing history as we speak and changing the discourse in favor of public opinion.

All these analyses of why the Russians are doing this or that, failing this way then that way, etc is just fucking dark. Post Trump, I'm not writing anyone or anything off based on assumed stupidity as I simply don't think it's that.
There's obviously a severe lack of respect for life and general decency though, and that's far worse.

Are they actually sacking staff as well? I'd imagine keeping their staff on payroll would make for a nice PR story
Edit: staff are still on pay:
These decisions have a direct impact on 15,000 IKEA co-workers. The
ambitions of the company groups are long term and we have secured
employment and income stability for the immediate future and provide
support to them and their families in the region. -
This is me, but in design. Most days see me running PS, XD, sketch at the same time. All with a number of heavy and complex files open in each. Plus all the other stuff - browser, emails, slack, excel, etc. Sure I can close and open apps but why?
Mid spec MBP it is
