Must say thanks to jonny for organising it all and doing the reccy run earlier, it certainly made for a smooth ride. Thanks to Murtle for setting such a cracking pace and thanks to everyone for keeping up (well almost) and not getting punctures.
Special thanks though to Pip. Of all the places you could have come off and dislocated your shoulder, you chose to do it just outside of Marlowe on Regatta day, giving us a lovely 30 min rest surrounded by all the hot young things of Buckinghamshire. Well done sir. Oh, and heal up.

No you are spot on! That's the only reason I usually do these rides. Today unfortunately I have a bbq at a friends house that I can't miss. I'm already going to be very late. But I'm riding on the very outside chance that we hammer it up to oxford in 3 hours and I get 4 hours boozing in the sun before coming home.

Cheers everyone for posting up all of those lovely lo-pro frames. I'm in the market for one and checking this thread is like getting a summary of the interweb in one easy place.
Keep up the good work.
Oh, and crank, if you are selling your frame let me know. Same goes for Joelounge, Todd and anyone else with a lo-pro.

Yep, he is in a safe seat, he just beat the Lib Dem candidate by a truckload at the last election. He is resigning, then running again in the by-election.
Whilst it does have something of the 'pr stunt' about it, in this case it's for a pretty damn good reason. Just can't believe it's a tory fighting for our civil liberties.

I reckon the Embankment, Mile end rd route will be quicker. You are looking for long straight stretches with minimal stopping. So:
Kensington rd, then Constitution Hill and the Mall. All the way down the Embankment, then onto Mile end rd. Leg it through Victoria park, onto the Eastway, then left down Orient way onto Lea Bridge rd. You can get some serious speed along quite a few stretches of that route, regardless of the traffic.
I'm not sure how much help a group will be on busy roads though. I mean, are you really going to be wheel sucking the guy in front going 25mph down Lea Bridge rd at 6pm? They might be useful for moral support, though, in which case I'm available for Eastside duties. Just say when.
Winner was sanocycles. Sano?
