is everyone so pissed off that they had to respond to the OP? surely this has been resolved? me had bad service, 100 people respond saying they've had great service, and everyone is happy.

this all seems to be a 'them and us' issue, you guys can discriminate between an unfounded(for example) complaint, and a reasonable one(BLB x 666), but joe public is incapable of distinguishing between the 2?

mopeds and motorcycles will just do what they always do in bus lanes: block up the mythical 'filtering space'...for all their experience (and of course gigantic bollocks), motorcyclists regularly wheel their bikes with their feet out into my path from between cars...maybe 360degree visors would help?

as for empathy, they do see you as another person on a bike, but they would be fine if they bumped into you, and even if they do come off(at the same speed, ie. they aren't doing the usual 50mph in a bus lane), they have their leathers etc.

I'd have respect for them if they didn't wrap themselves up in 300 layers of leather, and rev their throttle like some overweight middle aged german pornstar stroking themself off...whats the big deal? it's your ENGINE!

I ran over a squirrel in hyde park...pissing down a little track at 30mph, and suddenly about 50 squirrels broke from cover at the side of the road and stormed the path...felt a thud, but thought I'd get out of there before they regrouped :D

I knew it was, but figured if they were ok with it(and I pointed it out at build time, only to be dismissed as overly paranoid)...it started to gnaw at me, so I changed it...but it had done most of the grinding work on the chainstay by the time I'd got it home on day one :s

@asm: that angle grinder story sounds spot on, I've worked in a garage, and I'm not a wuss when it comes to stressing components, but watching the way blb worked made me super uneasy, sorry about the cranks

well, this was 8 months ago, I've done 1500miles on south london streets with it grinding, and only recently replaced the cranks (it was starting to worry me having heard bad things about alu)...but it's still wrecked a lovely frame from a peace of mind point of view.

all just depressing predictable, they appear to have more interest in saving face than safety

it is fucking shabby, on an aluminum cannondale it's enough to make me worry about potholes

just had an great 'conversation' with bossman jan at lunchtime...I was asking him for a chainring adjustment quote, and he kept on telling me that if I wanted to tension the chain I just needed to pull the axle back in the dropout...he even came out with the classic "maybe there is something wrong with me that I do not understand"

this is after they fit a dura ace crank that ground a little groove out of my chainstays...hmmm...oh yeah, and with loose bolts, and not adjusted ("we can do nothing, it is oval")

I don't think they know what they're doing, anyone else get this impression?

I've stayed in the stayokay near the vondelpark before, it was pretty good, didn't know it had a bike lockup, but yeah, definately trying to get out of the smoke (well, not entirely...:D)
