on the photos of my bike i've just posted, does the saddle look too far forward? when it was first ready to ride, I moved it forward a fair bit, and in the last few weeks have moved it back slightly.
do you really think the saddle position can help when so much strain is going through yr kness when slowing down?
-
hippy Still, if you don't often ride that distance you won't tend to notice the bits that start to hurt..
Is your fix setup different from your other bike/s?
48x18 is fine.
Where does your knee hurt?My other bikes are mtbs, so a bit different, and they hurt a little, it feels like behind the knee cap.
Maybe I'll try moving the saddle back a bit and see after a slightly shorter ride.
cheers!

hi all!
from what I remember, these cards have been printed and are being distributed. I'm in barcelona, so obviously not going to find any in the local bike shops here! I remember there was someone who said they had free postage from work and they could send me a couple once complete, but I forget who that was.
Could anyone else help out?
cheers!

I've been experimenting with different gear ratios recently to try and get a slightly lower ratio with my 48t ring. I bought a cheap 19t sprocket from someone off ebay, left pos feedback as it looked ok, fitted it and it turns out that its, and I think the correct engineering term is, it's pissed. ie the "hole in the middle is off centre. this was confirmed when I took it off and got a ruler up against it. Also, the old 18t sprocket is fine.
What can you do with a pissed 19t sprocket?

hopefully someone here can help. A while ago, I buckled the bolts that adjusts the axle distance in the rear dropouts. I emailed genesis to confirm size who said it was M4, so I ordered a couple of stainless steel replacements.
They arrived this morning, visually they look correct, but wont screw in. on the head it says A4. so my questions are>
does an A4 thread exist? if so, what is the difference between M4 and A4 for example? (the 4 obviously = 4mm dia)
If there is no difference, does anyone know the size I need?
cheers!

cheers for your comments guys. Tris, yeah, the pear end does fit fine this end, but this way you would have the brake outer getting in the way of yr fingers/bar no? I'd prefer it the other way, so the outer is going towards the centre of the bar.
When you put the inner in the other way, the way i'd prefer, it seems to be the "shaft" of the nipple that seems slightly too wider dia. to slide in ok.
[beavis_and_butthead_laugh] hehe, nipple, hehe, shaft hehehe, slide HEHEHEHE [/beavis_and_butthead_laugh] :))
maybe other cables would fit, i'l have to take a lever to a couple of shops and try

I've bought a pair of specialized "top mount road-brake levers" but will just use one hooked up to the front brake. Queston is, because they seem to be pass through levers (to be used along with standard road style levers) i need to find out which inner cable I need.
The standard road "pear" shaped nipple doesn't sit right. I wont use a gear cable as they're much thinner, and I dont want to be gambling if i'll only have one proper brake.
So the question is, what other option is there?

RPM, cheers, but it's not the whole chain, just a single link. I've just changed the sprocket from an 18 to 19 and its just about 3mm short of connecting the chain, so just need a single link like/similar to this: http://www.hubjub.co.uk/etc/etc.htm (8th box down)
As another option, if anyone could sort me out, i'd be happy to bung a few quid your way via paypay?

MrSmith the finish on goldtecs isn't as good as hope.
How is it different? Why were you disappointed with your goldtecs? I know they're good hubs, I'm not taking that away, just wondering why they didn't meet your expectations? (or are you a perfectionist who likes everything to be 100%!! ;)
cheers!

Don't you feel you slide forwards? I used to ride with a slight tilt to the front and it put too much pressure on my tackle and arms..[/quote]
i find the opposite, when the bars are lower than the saddle, you're obviously bent over more, and it feels like a lot of pressure is applied to the sensitive area on/in yr crotch area, by tilting the saddle forward slightly, I find it relieves that pressure
