Belated spot. Had a puncture on way to Gilles Peterson and Patrick Forge at Dingwalls sunday, and spent half an hour swapping out an innertube and picking broken glass out of me gatorskins, (by the way I'm methodical, not slow), during m,y sojourn I saw the delightful Mister K and Mother of Mister K. Long time no see big fella, hope to see you doing the drinking rounds soon...

Jonny you're right about the 22nd, being after the forum christmas party, I just checked to see if the 22nd was in use, and didn't think about the possible fallout/hangovers from the previous nights partying. It looks like that date will be moot anyways as the 15th is leading in the poll, followed some ways behind by the 8th...
Keep voting people we're still 6 people short.
*South Beers Xmas DINNER (fck santa, it's an anagram for SATAN)
- Snowy Again
- Clefty (with bells and tinsel on) how about the 15th Dec? Can we have secret santa?
- VeeVee (but might be difficult on 15 Dec - would 22 be ok for people?). Prince Regent my preferred option for a change, they do nice cups of tea.
- Wibble (Count me in if I'm still around London town by the time it happens..)
- RPM
- hillbilly
- 50/14 as a ped
- Marie (Prince Regent too please, 'tis my local. Either date is fine)
- pajetc. yes that sounds lovely as I hit yet another Christmas too mercurial to have a staff Christmas do.
- Aroogah
- andyp
- Skully. Not voting as I have no pref. date, Mondays are strangely quiet apart from Souths.

Hey People...
I co-opted the South Beers Thread to start the discussion but this needs its own thread.
Right now the plan is this:
The Prince Regent will give us their room upstairs for free, but we need at least 20 people to make it worth their while.
Two courses for £11, just their normal menu, not an xmas one - boo hoo!, but the food is still very good.
Music will be provided by those members of the Bright Times circle who are South's Regulars, which is pretty much all of us, as we will have a sound system all to ourselves.
There's also a poll for the Date, consensus at the moment seems to be the 15th, but we could pull it forward to the 8th or push it back to the 22nd (though I don't think many people will be around for that one.) So vote, sooner rather than later and I'll redo the thread title to incorporate it.So roll up, roll up and enjoy the South Beers Xmas festivities, all forumengers who have attended South's are welcome, thats you Stelle, Ray, Skully, Illy, Object, etc, etc, etc, if I've missed you out don't worry, I still love you.
If you haven't attended South's hey nows the time.PS. Thanks be to Snowy for organising the Prince Regent.
List is below (transferred from the South Beers Thread)
We need at least 20 people so put names down ASAP.
Looking forward to drinking/eating/dancing/ with all of you.*South Beers Xmas DINNER (fck santa, it's an anagram for SATAN)

big fella, not being a full on regular smoker, more like a social, poncing cigarettes, smoker!!
But like villa says if you've made the decision in your head to stop smoking, then its best just to do that. STOP!
Being in Oz away from your usual smoking habits will make it easier, but you will still want to smoke, especially when you've got a few G's in you.
Be strong mentally and as villa says give yourself rewards and goals to work towards, which will hopefully strengthen your mentality and help keep combat the cravings...
Good luck. I'm looking forward to being crushed by yuor speed on the track next year... -
sorry to hear that villa, good that you and family are all safe, insurance will cover the effects, and I'm sure Mrs Ru, once over the shock of the burglary will get back into the writing groove, it could give her the basis of a story. Obviously I'm assuming she's writing fiction rather than anything else.

haven't been to more than 2 CM's and I've enjoyed them both, I think the greatest achievement of it is to give people who ride bikes a glimpse of what is like to ride with a bunch of other cyclists, something people rarely do as most just commute, think of that feeling you have going on the bridges ride for the first time or one of the longer rides to brighton/southend/cambridge/oxford/canterbury, that social, riding your bike talking to other people riding bikes, its a great feeling, and so I assume people come out on the Mass for more of the same.
London as a city and the UK as a whole are still miles away from reaching the tipping point, in relation to bikes on the roads and other road users, looking out for and being aware of us. If Critical Mass helps in that respect then its a good thing, if it doesn't or is past its sell by date, then people need to figure out something else that will...
