that's what compact geometry is for.

And MTB seatposts are for compact geometry.

On a frame with a horizontal top tube, it's unlikely you'll need a foot of seatpost showing.

Yes.

109mm ISO BBs are a bit thin on the ground.

I'd guess at it running the same BB as the Campag Pista crank, ie 111mm.

You can get the basic Campag BB for a tenner, so its not the biggest gamble in the world!

There's a Gipiemme Pista crank in the Transmission Database partnered with the Campag 111mm. Perhaps a PM to ondine would shed some light.
