roxy, i see your point... i just dont see these other teams.
There are no other teams coming forward because that vote said "Theres no point forming a team until the next league season because we wont let you play anyway". If we'd voted to allow other teams it'd be worth forming one, but its kind of a waste of time if they cant play anywhere.
If Sarah and I ever actually agree on something it should be taken fucking seriously. Otherwise planets may collide. Srsly
What happens if I agree with both of you? (Note that I'm just saying "if", in case of some serious interplanetary consequences when all three of us are in alignment..)
Having said that, its a vote, and the time to have this whole fucking debate was before the vote closed. Its over, and this year we fucked up on "fair and inclusive". Let it go. At least we've got about a year to decide on a better way to select next years teams..

Shame they lost the braze on cable stop for the rear brake IMO. I don't see the point in cleaning up the frame like that when it still has brake bosses and all those welds on the seat stays.
i have a green one and it has the canti stop
However, my new (ie, old but found in the warehouse during the move) blue one doesnt. Ive no idea what thats about.
Youre right about the welds though. Theyre not pretty. And mine has chunks of seat stay cap missing that are clearly from the factory and pre-paint coat.

Call me morbid, but the sight of two (or more) sleek, powerful, motor vehicles crashed into each other with the drivers shouting and swearing as to who is to blame.
Now that brings on a chuckle. They dont even have to be expensive. Theres nothing more cheering than the sight of a crashed black cab, complete with screaming angry cabbie..

...And it did...and in keeping with Fiddy tradition he managed to take out another rider at the same time,
That so had to happen. Fortunately for the colnago, most of the impact was absorbed by my leg hitting that wooden post, although I may be in need of a new front rim..Paul, wherever you are, you owe me a pint.
Jim was the most amazing hearse rider ever though, screaming "you fucking cunt" at that woman in the car, before crashing the hearse. Twice. All in a few hundred metres of relative safety inside the park. Epic. Hope hes okay..

Note the amount of attention the driver is paying.
Note also the idiot in the yellow jacket behind him looking to scoot past down the inside. While the driver appears to be gazing out his side window in what looks like stationary traffic,he's also driving well over to the left, leaving plenty of space for everyone to safely and legally overtake on the outside, and yet the retard in the hi-vis is still eyeing up the chance of dangerously cutting down the inside..
[/offtopic rant]
sorry. as you were... -

fair point, i was more on the track that this was the only reason to do it, not that this made it worth it.
Agreed. I just think theres a fair amount of anti-nike sentiment here, and if I were trying to show that Nike respected someones community, I wouldnt show up and take pictures at throwins without everyones agreement, which obviously isnt forthcoming.
I appreciate that GrowUp needs the work, and if he finds models and sets up a shoot thats up to him. Ive done shoots like that. However, showing up at newington/downham/mitch and turning it into a commercial shoot is more than a little disrespectful to all the other players in this community whove made their feelings perfectly clear here.

mentioned that Mark Cavendish (a cyclist ) wants to come down and have a go.
Like any other new player, Cav is welcome at throwins anytime. Unlike Nike.
If so this will surely do more harm than good if they mock up a faux polo scenario.
You think not working with Nike will be worse than endorsing them? If we just wear the yellow stars, maybe theyll leave us alone? Its not about being a newbie. Its about recognising that this sport is still young, still working out who it wants to be, and its the responsibility of all of us as a community to make sure it doesnt fall into the hands of someone whose only purpose is to exploit it to sell shoes, in turn made by exploiting third world children and who has zero interest in giving anything back to any community it rides on the back of.
Wait. Theyre using exposure PR. I go there all the time. Maybe Ill take Andy a personal message tomorrow on behalf of london bike polo. I think Mr Norris has made some useful suggestions..

I've seen a lot of death and I've been to too many funerals and I've often thought, if only we could have gathered around our friend when he was still alive, shown them how much they were loved
Ive been having that conversation all xmas about someone else. James, Em and everyone else who took the time to visit paul and show him that, deserve all our respect.
All hail emperor 50/14!
Hail Fiddy. RIP Paul, mate..

;1091893']The reason for the 4-some was that Brian was foreseeing a lot of time away from London, and still is. Hassan wasn't sure if he was going to be in the country for the entire season so we declared them both zombies (before the league even).
My idea.
Yeah. That always made sense. That wasnt aimed at bryan, or zombies in particular,at all. I meant it more in the general league rule sense of "If you join a team (even as their sub), rather than just being a floating sub, youre still a team member, and thus also shouldnt be allowed to leave and go back to floating sub status under the current league rules".

eggpie, frame's steel. parts dunno to be honest.
ball joint puller, elaborate...
This is a ball joint puller:

With some creativity, and the right sized tool, you can squeeze the jaws on the right around the axle, between the crank and the frame, so it pulls on the crank arm, then use a very large wrench/cheater bar/friend to tighten the screw against the axle like any other crank tool (making sure its not pressing against the crank arm in any way...) Its just like a regular crank tool, but hooks the crank from behind instead of pulling on the threads. I didnt promise it would be easy..of course, if its alloy cranks on a steel axle, you can always experiment with the idea that aluminium expands more than steel when (gently) heated...
(Theyre campy cranks, right? Not TA or Stronglight? Its not the Reverse thread C-record era stuff?)
If the stem is alloy, embrace that caustic soda. Its not scary, it just removes flesh. If its steel, embrace the hacksaw. Also good for removing flesh.
Wooo. Chain Reaction rock for overnight delivery. Ill be down with a new bike soon...
