Sparky That's right by my office, see it every day at lunch. I'm starting to think it's been abandoned.
i have seen it in that same spot quite a few times too. could be abandoned. round the corner on TCR outside the pret there is another fixie that hasn't moved for a while. a nice one too, though can't remember what off the top of my head

4th may dude. it's always on the sunday of the first bank holiday weekend in may.
we go down saturday. take it easy, maybe spin around a bit of the island. then sunday the ride proper followed by many beers. monday make our way back home.
been really good every time. and i go with a real mixed ability bunch of mates. would be cool if a load of lfgss go down there and i will certainly hook up. but will ride with my usual lot as team leader, mentor, guru, shamen type. hell yeah.

hippy, train/ferry combo comes in at about £40/£45 round trip. i have always stayed in the same (really nice) b & b on the south of the island. gonna try somewhere else this year as the new proprietor propositioned my flatmate and fellow rider last year. seriously, he was coming on to her and whispered to "oh, come on, i will lick you out and everything".
get along to west end beers tomorrow and will tell you about it. they serve cola and all that.

dogs, i like bermondsey. even spent New Years Eve there. the area has definitely 'come up' quite a bit in the last few years, as evidenced by a few nice places to eat and drink (The Rose, The Garrison, The Woolpack) and a few interesting shops and stuff. like most areas of london it still has it's fair share of rundown flats and the like.
i am likely to be on the move in a couple of months and if it wasn't for the fact that bermondsey is too close to central london (thus depriving me of miles on the bike) it would be on the list. i am hankering after a move back to the east end.
