Typical that after sorting out other people’s lights, my rear LED bounced off on the way to Euston, and my contingency one was without charge. Just as well I was leading.
Anyway, what a mellow evening under the setting sun. Fantastic. Or should I say:
Some findings: we will get the 19h24, because the 19h04 is fucking rammed; and we’ll do the shorter route if it’s a standard mixed-ability TNRC group; we’ll happily avoid any waiting around for the nearly-midnight train that way. The route flows well enough in the 34 mile configuration.
Thanks to Airtime, Howrad, & Chalfie for a most excellent ride.
Armagnac now.

Light borrowers - you might want to buy yourself 2xAA Duracells each as backup. Turned out to be a bad batch with a dead cell that were put on to charge, so none took any juice. I’m currently sprint charging another batch, but they’re unlikely to get a full cycle. These 2AA torches normally get 3hrs on the high beam with fresh batteries, so I’m sure you’ll get an hour though.

It's not off-road, but there's a slightly technical bit near the end when you'll definitely want more than a blinky.
I'm going to slip out at 4pm to get home and make sure charged batteries, torches and lights are definitely sorted.
Some of us have been known to limp through the majority of a TNRC in emergency situations just sharing someone else's beam, so whatever happens, we'll be fine.

We need to get this light situation sorted. I think I've got 2 x 1AA torches with a decent beam that'll last an hour to 90 minutes; possibly with cheap mounts too. I'll email home and ask to have some batteries on charge.
Let me know if these are definitely required (1 each, howrad & Chalfie) or if you're able to blag an alternative. I'd aim to have ~100 lumens on your front for the final hour of the ride, just to be safe.

I'll buy the groupsave, so have your ~£8 or ~£6 ready, depending on whether we're 3 or 4. Ticket office is front left of building, so we'll congregate near there. If things go pear-shaped regarding the 19h04, we have the 19h24 as a back-up, but let's aim for the earlier one as planned. I'd try not to be any later than 18h45.
Some of the views will be great :)
