" Researchers analysed Premier League coverage in the UK across TV - including pitchside hoardings and shirt logos - as well as radio and social media.
They counted more than 29,000 gambling messages, a 165% increase on the opening weekend a year ago.
West Ham's match against Aston Villa contained close to 6,500 gambling messages - about 30 every minute. "

i'm sure i heard he had the highest expenses bill in the house of commons ... over what period i can't remember though.
surely he could just give it a year before milking the sweet sweet freebies just to allow his party to settle into government without any controversy, without losing his popularity rating, without being seen as a hypocrite, surely that would be more sensible. he'll still get his grift but just play it subtle kier.
to be fair though i'd take a free edwyn collins ticket in a heart beat. and vote for no income tax on billionnaires ... if a billionaire gave it to me.

" Asked about the donations, Sir Keir said that around £20,000 he had declared from Lord Alli for unspecified accommodation was for his teenager to study for exams in a “peaceful” atmosphere while the then-Labour leader was overwhelmed with media attention in the run-up to the election. "

British beer drinkers, face the truth: a pint is too big, a half is too small – all hail the two-thirds measure
shrink - flation by the back door ? pint goes up in price, 2/3rds pint priced at the same as a pint ? drinkers get screwed ?
and since when has a pint been too much .... well maybe after the 11th, but it's a problem that doesn't need fixing

One day the realisation will come to you like some Damascene moment, that football matches are won by goals scored, not chances created or percentage of possession.
i'm not denying that, i'm just arguing against the point that forest were the better team. liverpool were the better team, when they weren't being kicked up in the air, yates had mac allister on the floor about 4 times in the first 20 mins. but we conceded a goal and therefore lost. we've all seen the better team on the day lose, this was one of those examples !
-
chances and possession were well in liverpools favour in that first half. i don't think you had a shot on target. we just didn't do anything up front, wayward and mistimed passes were the order of the day.
you came back in the 2nd half. we didn't improve and when we went to 1 at the back chasing the game in the last 15 - 20 mins we looked all over the place, disjointed, heads went down and we didn't look like scoringa draw would have been fairer !
-
he got man of the match 2 or maybe 3 times ( i forget which ) on this is anfield in the first 3 games of the season. today he was just off the pace.
he's stated he wants a new contract and negotiations have begun. but i'm guessing he won't be getting the £350k - ish per week he's currently on. he'll still score a boat load this season thoughha, at least everton are cheering up this slightly gloomy saturday. loosing after being 2-0 up twice this season already
-
disappointing game today, was expecting a continuation of the perfect start but got that horrible performance, mo salah looked like he'd never passed a ball before, he would have missed a barn door from 4 yards away. haven't seen him that poor in a long time. first half we looked in control but just couldn't beat the forest defensive block then looked a bit toothless 2nd half, 1st win for forest at anfield since '69.
lets hope tuesdays champions league game can lift the gloom.

" Apple has been ordered to pay Ireland €13bn (£11bn; $14bn) in unpaid taxes by Europe's top court, putting an end to an eight-year row.
The European Commission accused Ireland of giving Apple illegal tax advantages in 2016, but Ireland has consistently argued against the need for the tax to be paid. The Irish government said it would respect the ruling. "
ireland decides to accept the EUR 13bn ... that's good of them !
