Ah right... so realistically if I'm wanting to hook either of these up to a proper soundsystem (club/ party) I'll be needing a soundcard/ interface of some sort... but for goofing around at home you can still just plug and play right??

I've got the vestax vci 100 with a separate stanton sound card.
Separate sound cards are always better as you can use external mixers (in clubs) and just use the midi for effects and transport.

Wouldn't have thought Alu would stick to carbon, have you put the seatpost in a vice and manipualted the frame ?
What frame is it BTW ?
Sounds as if someone has used normal grease on the seatpost.
If this is the case you will never get it out.

There's a good render plug in for sketch up - podium. But it's best to do the basic stuff in sketchup then export to 3d studio max to render.

It's been pointed out that I should think about it properly. Basically as soon as I take money in return for a service I need to think about how that changes things. Specifically, how I account for the money (register a business) to make sure that what money is received actually covers the costs.
What that actually means is that I haven't done costings with things like the fee to register a company, submit company accounts, have any legal stuff reviewed (insurance against legal fees), how this might affect personal tax stuff (would I be taxed so much that if I set it up to bring in the right amount, that post-tax I ended up paying more than I do now?)... stuff like that.
That's what I was trying to say.
I think if the product reviews ever take off you should try and gain a revenue from that.
And also have 2 parts of the website - review part and forum part. The adverts should stay on the review part. For example have adverts from the manufacturer/shop you are reviewing parts/bikes from.........but the problem with this is trying to stay unbiased..

Velocio donates money to good causes but if he makes money why is that a bad thing? Know what a really good site/server admin costs per year? I do. Know how much time and effort it takes to run a site this size? I have a good idea. I also know what he does for a living and have a very good idea at what an hour of his time would cost a customer.
If he can take home an extra couple of quid for his time and efforts then why not?

What if the forum takes more than 6k a year?
Does Vb have to keep records of who paid?
Does VB have to be transparent about how he spends the money?

Also make sure it's at least 24bit for the best sound
