Good point. I figured that expanding in all directions would end up making the taper marginally wider overall. But no joy. Still, the Cyclus toolset saved the day.

I used cutting oil liberally. Wasn't going to compromise with that crank and those expensive tools.

I managed to haul my arse out of bed for some early-morning rays. If I only ride at sunrise and sunset, the yellow's a keeper. Thanks @jono84 for the motivation.

I thought I'd love the yellow: my first track bike was a beautiful white Geoffrey Butler with yellow saddle and bars.

Next installment: all black. The bars look just wrong to me against the blue, as do the black tyres. I like the rest, though.

Finally some time to play with track bikes again. I took the Rondinella for a quick test ride this morning. It rides so well.

Stem's a touch shorter than I like, so I'll need to see if I have one more suitable. Still a work in progress.

Not experimented with mine, but the nose is up a touch. I have Rolls and Turbos set the same way.

Must be 650c (571mm) wheels. A bit closer to 559s.

I bought this EG Bates from @nankatsu a few months ago. No changes to speak of yet. I'm using it as a road-fixed for the summer, before I turn it back into a track bike. The Shropshire hills were a challenge.

Are Omniums worse for clearance than any other standard 144bcd track chainsets? I've only used them on modern frames.
