@DaveYates: Does this protruding head tube geo make for a stiffer frame compared to a head tube that ends at the top tube but with a longer seat tube? Or is this to bring the bars up but keep the stand over height low? Thanks!

Maybe this is the place to show off my very very practical commuter? It's practically a forum bike, got the frame (@tm89 check it out!), tyres, guards from here!

I asked him for some more measurements and they are indeed for 26"... COuld be from a raven but they have no lowrider rack mounts?

actually not sure if these are for 700c... he states "distance from the bottom of the top tube to where the centre of the wheel hub goes is a smidge over 14 inches."

If this is the axle-to-bottom-of-crown distance then that would be pretty tight for a 700c wheel?

I'm looking for some mudguards for my dawes road bike. The clearance is tight, but with some tinkering I should get something like 40mm width to fit. So 40mm or narrower would be awesome, and I would prefer metal! Something like the Portland Design Works or Kinesis fend off. They can be a bit ratty, no problem, the frame is too.
